Derek begins training in Israel

Ghana international midfielder Derek Boateng has joined Israeli Premier League giants Beitar Jerusalem for training as he awaits a move in the winter transfer window.

The 32-year-old was speculated to have joined Saudi Pro League outfit Al Wahada but it has been revealed that he is training with the Israeli Premier League side.

The former Fulham midfielder has been linked with a return to Sweden but his agent Gerardo Aranda has insisted his client is yet to be contacted by any Swedish club.

“We have not been in contact with a Swedish club. But we will listen to all the proposals received,” Aranda told Fotbolldirekt.

Boateng was released at the end of last season by Eibar after spending a season with Spanish La Liga club.
