Las Palmas manager Quique Setién says Ghana winger Wakaso Mubarak was instrumental in their 3-2 triumph over Eibar in the Spanish Copa Del Rey on Thursday.

The 25-year-old scored with a trademark rocket drive from 25 yards as the Yellows fought from behind to record a crucial win away.

After struggling to come impose himself in the Las Palmas regular squad, the Black Stars midfielder appears to have won the heart of the Spanish gaffer.

"Perhaps now we are hitting more than we did at first. We try to improve every day, in the idea and concepts and are gaining confidence. Clearly the players who played today have been at a high level, as in the case of Wakaso, which has been decisive and I are going to get very difficult in the face of the league," he praised the Ghanaian.

Wakaso is on loan from Russian side Rubin Kazan' and will be hoping to remain in the Spanish top-flight at the end of his loan spell.
