Brigadier General Daniel Frimpong (Rtd) has launched a 220-page book titled ‘Retirement Musings’ on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Burma Camp.

The book which is a reflection of his over four decades service to the nation, through the Ghana Armed Forces throws light on life after retirement.

According to the General, it is important that one writes his or her memoir whilst on retirement to serve as inspiration and encouragement for the upcoming generation to use as a guide in decision making.

He said retirees must consider publishing books since they have so much to share when it comes to experience and knowledge.

He noted that retirement was real and encouraged all and sundry to plan their retirement to avoid stress which ultimately will lead to ill health and boredom.

Reviewing the book, a member of the Ghana Writers Association and a former Chairman of the National Media Commission, Nana Kwesi Gyan Apenten said retirement was a subject everyone tries to avoid.

He called for a national discourse on the issues raised in the book especially what could be done for those on retirement to improve their lives and living conditions.

The launch was graced by the Chief of the Defense Staff (CDS) Lt. Gen Obed Boamah Akwa, Service Chiefs and personnel of the Armed Forces.
