Atletico Madrid have rejected a 9 million Euro offer from English Premier League side Watford for in-form young Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey.

This is because head coach Diego Simeone has told the club’s hierarchy not to sell the budding midfielder during this January transfer window.

Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores is in search of a young, physical central midfielder who can also score goals and Partey fits the bill.

According to reports, Atlético have received several offers from both La Liga and overseas sides keen to sign the Ghanaian on loan until the end of the season.

Partey’s contract with Atlético runs until 2019.
