Ace Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas came under intense pressure from certain high offices of the land to shelve his investigative piece that has established complicity of some thirty-four (34) high profile Judges in an explosive corruption scandal, his boss and Veteran Journalist Kweku Baako has revealed.

According to him, the “Tiger Eye” investigative team was confronted with the issue of whether to rock the boat by making its findings public or to put it on hold.

The video is expected to be premiered soon at the Accra International Conference Centre in the next few days.

There is uneasy calm in Ghana’s Judiciary as thirty-four judges face being sacked following the exposé.

Some senior judges including, High Court Judge Charles Quist, Kofi Essel Mensah and Ajet Nassam have been captured on tape in discussion with suspects or assigns of suspects on how to compromise the cases before the Judges' respective courts.

The incriminatory video shows money changing hands as one could hear the judges including, a Human Rights Court judge, Charles Quist (a High Court Judge) allegedly making demands to throw away cases which include robbery, murder and corruption among others.

“What if I release him (armed robbery suspect) on Friday and I don’t see you again?” Quist was heard on tape allegedly quizzing someone.

“Oh I will get him off. I will get him off the hook on Friday but everything will depend on you,” he stressed in the conversation.

Speaking on Peace FM on Wednesday, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako clarified that it took the investigative team two (2) years, contrary to the 6 months earlier stated to complete the comprehensive investigative piece that is touted as the greatest scandal to ever hit Ghana’s judiciary.

He further lauded the exploits of his protégé Anas whose works has always been in the interest of the state.

“What we have to do now is to look at Anas’ security. I know Anas very well, he is not a fearless man or a pushover, but it is important that adequate security is provided him so that he does his patriotic duties unhindered and in safety.

Kweku Baako added that Ghana’s Parliament is next on the agenda for a thorough investigative piece.

“A report on Parliament will be ready next year. Even as I’m giving a hint now, nothing can be done to change anything because we have gathered enough compelling evidence of corruption. The Presidency is not exempted from our scrutiny, they shouldn’t think they are free, they are on our radar”.
