Anaji Credit Union made gains in 2015

The Cooperative Credit Union Limited (CCUL) of Anaji Christ the King in Takoradi has declared a net surplus of GH?223,428.02 for 2015 as against GH?250,811.70 in 2014.

Within the same period, expenditure amounted to GH?1, 474,253.46, Mr Isaac Sam-Cudjoe, Chairman of the board, said during their 16th annual general shareholders’ meeting.

He said the amount went into the funding of personnel, organization, security, occupation, administration and provision for loan losses.

He said total liabilities and capital for 2015 stood at GH?6,714,117.88 and GH?6, 316,003.94 in the previous year.

Mr Sam-Cudjoe urged the shareholders to pay loans they contract to enable others benefit from it.

Mr Maxwell Sarpong, Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHPA) branch in Takoradi of the Credit Union, advised the public to eschew frivolous spending and cultivate the habit of saving.

Mr Sarpong said savings instills discipline in expenditure which would cater for emergencies and future.

Prizes were given to long service shareholders and hard working staff for their meritorious work.
