The leading rural bank in the country, Amenfiman Rural Bank in the last five years posted profit of 6.3 million from a figure of Ghc445,000.00.

This achievement, according to Board Chairman of the bank, Dr Tony Aubyn, is as a result of strategic planning, hard work, dedication, determination and vision of the board, management and staff of the bank.

“We are also very pleasantly surprised about our performance but it didn’t come as a fluke. It came through dedicated, strategic, effective utilization of human resource and effective planning.

The issue of an albatross is not there, they are always around to take decisions”, Dr Aubyn mentioned.

The bank which won the Deposit Mobilization Bank of the Year 2014 has some 12,500 customers on its SME scheme.

Dr Tony Aubyn told Ultimate Business, at the opening of the bank’s thirteenth branch at Santasi Apire Junction that, they will not relent on their achievement of being the leading rural bank and also possibly merge with other financial institutions in the future.

Amenfiman Rural Bank established in 1980 and headquartered in Wassa Akropong in the Western Region is the first rural bank in Ghana certified by Bank of Ghana to operate outside its jurisdiction.

Chief Executive Officer of Amenfiman Rural Bank, Alexander Asmah stated that “the time had come for Amenfiman to extend its top-notch, swift and excellent banking products and services to the people of Kumasi and to their clients who trade mostly between the Ashanti and Western Regions”.

Also as part of efforts to discourage the carrying of huge cash and to prevent loss of money through highway robberies, all the thirteen branches of Amenfiman Rural Bank have been networked to provide that convenience and security.
