Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency and former Minister of Finance, Anthony Akoto Osei has cautioned new Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye to tone down with his public outburst about what he intends to do at the Ministry insisting the Sports Ministry is a 'hot zone'.

According to the former Finance Minister, prominent personalities like MP for Asawase Constituency Hon. Mubarak Muntaka could not survive the heat of the ministry and that Hon. Nii Lantey should be very careful with how he thinks he can transform the ministry overnight.

The new minister took to the media after his nomination outlining what he intends doing at the ministry but the Tafo MP insists that the Odododiodio MP's assumption that he has been a former sports journalist is wrong to transform the ministry.

"That Ministry is very tricky for Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye to assume he can transform it in a twinkle of an eye. We have all been sports person before but that does not guarantee we shall be successful Sports Ministers," Hon. Akoto Osei said at the floor of Parliament on Wednesday.

"The way he is talking, I fear for him. My good friend Hon. Mubarak Muntaka could not survive there and if he [Nii Lante] thinks he has been in sports person for a long time so he can change the ministry outright, he must be careful. I pray for him though," he added.

Nii Lantey Vanderpuye was confirmed on Wednesday at the floor of Parliament after his appointment by the President.
