The ban on political activities and national events in the Agogo and the surrounding areas, in the Asante Akim North district of the Ashanti region has been lifted with immediate effect, a statement by the Agogo Youth Association said.

The ban was lifted following a meeting held by leadership of the Agogo Youth Association and Agogoman Mma kuo in April 26, 2016 over the Agogo woes with Fulani menace.

Residents vowed to boycott all state functions and political activities until their rights to live are restored by state actors, security agents and leaders of political parties.

The onslaught of the Fulani affliction has led to the death of several locals and left many devastated following the destruction on their farmlands.

However, a statement signed by secretary to the Association, Alfred Gyimah in the wake of the review has pleaded with political parties to ensure the safety of its people as they come to campaign in the area.

The statement also thanked politicians for their cooperation during the ban.
