Why are Ghanaians treated with so much disdain as if every applicant requesting for replacement is a criminal? Yes it is right to conduct checks on applicants but is it not a ploy to make it easy for the staff to be compromised? The system frustrate applicants to the extent that THEY offer the staff inducement to fast track their applications.

Why do you make such a suggestion? And what makes you think that Ghanaians do not know the difference between staff of GHC and your version of 'gorro' boys? Ghana is overly tired of useless diplomats like you and its high time you people treat fellow Ghanaians with some respect and dignity. True to the author's word, the London branch of the GHC is well refurbished yet the behaviour of a small number of their staff remains either unprofessional or downright uncouth.
The High Commissioner should work very hard to remove the grain from the chaff. As the author remarked, the high commission is the gateway to Ghana and the conduct of its staff should be representative of Ghanaian hospitality and standards.

However, he never stops asking for 1000 dollar seeds for a prayer for others to become rich. Literally, one will think he is selling prayer for thousand dollars. This is a doctrine that can cause many to doubt the gospel, so it is a false scripture, even though, he is using seeding and harvesting, sowing reaping scripture to make his case.
I think I am familiar with the new testament of Christ Jesus and his disciples. I have never come across a situation that any one of them made such request for solving financial problems in society. Anytime, that the aostles need money they put it before the congregation to contribute something according to their weight to fulfill their financial obligations. Even the Lord Jesus Christ who could command anything to be, did not used the man on television doctrines for financial success.
The purpose of powerful preachers in society is to eradicate sins by teaching the true gospel of salvation, while using their authority from the Lord to correct and rebuke our ruling government for rightful stewardships of their power and authority, especially when it comes cruelties and wickedness administrations. The early propphets and men of God were there for that reason in the land of Judah which could be said present Israel. Likewise, the apostles were not afraid to let their views known to kings and governors of their time.

Almost a year ago I had a similar bitter experience dealing with the lady at the front desk of the Ghana Consulate in Toronto, Canada, over an application to renew my Ghana passport. I was so offended by her condescending attitude that I decided not to return the application form to that office, instead I sent it to the High Commission in Ottawa for processing. The officials in Ottawa, Canada seem to be very good. I processed my application for dual citizenship through them, plus I have had interaction with them over passport application and subsequent renewal. As for the Toronto officials I have vowed not to have anything to do with them, ever!

I share your frustration here in Canada. The quality of services in Ghanaian Consulates worldwide is a shame, at the very least. The idea of dual citizenship may have sounded quite exotic to many of our brothers and sister with dual citizenship. As a Ghanaian, I applied for one in 2011 through Ottawa. I was advised it would take up to a year to process. Three years later, no one there seems to have straight answers for me. I may have to go home one day as a foreigner. The question is, are there people in Ghana capable of actually doing the job so as to allow the people currently at post to be returned home? And to agree with Adumoa in absolute terms,can other foreign nationals with the required competence be hired to complement the efforts of capable Ghanaians to serve their country-men and women? Finally, just like Adumoa's resolve, I am currently consulting with Ghanaians with similar experiences. The outcome of these consultations might be either an open-letter to the Ghanaian parliament or to the media or both.
Thanks, Adumoa, for having both the courage and for taking the initiative to make your voice heard and to make way for some of us to share our personal misadventures with the Ghanaian foreign service personnel.

Do not foget that the entir edual citizenery is bilateral, both countries MUST agree on it. For instance in Germany, Ghanaians who have acquired German citizenship MUST first denounce their Ghanaian one ie on the side of Ghana its is DUAL. On the side of German it is MONO - you cannot have Ghana citizenship and German citizenship at the same time - either Ghanaian or Ghanaian.

This forum sure is not the right place to solve the problem, but it a better approach than your suggestion given neither approach will solve the problem and the current approach "punishes" the GHC by ventilating their bad behavior. Perhaps the few good ones would make a bit of attempt to get their colleagues to stop.
This problem is a Ghanaian disease that's not restricted to the Undiplomatic Corps of Ghana. When was the last time you heard a Sakawa "prophet" preaching against corruption? Good luck!

Nobody answers the phone at High Hill Gate for the past 4 years! Letters 'upon' letters are not replied to. In desperation I tried our Ireland commission and the phone was answered instantly by a non- Ghanaian employee but they could not help.

To my pleasant surprise after searching everywhere frantically, the gentleman at the post handed my wallet to me intact, telling me I had left it at his counter. I was very proud of my countrymen that day so all this is news to me. The high commissioner in the UK and his underlings should be fired immediately. We the people must insist on it. This is not NDC or NPP matter. Just something that must be taken care of. In fact the minister of foreign affairs or whoever deals with our embassies needs to resign as well. I personally believe in closing half our foreign missions now and half of what is left later.

Ghana Embassy/Consulate introduced New Passport and Renewals in the U.S. by mail using US Postal Service/FedEx etc. with "TRACKING NUMBER". This process prevents any loss of passport and certifies the date passport is received or mailed by the embassy. THERE IS NO NEED FOR YOUR PHYSICAL PRESENCE AT THE EMBASSY/CONSULATE.
Your physical presence is a hindrancee to their work !
I live out-of-state of New York and Washington D.C. I have used this process over a 20-year period ( the latest being July 2014 for Biometric Passsport) and in both cases, the possport arrived within 3 - 4 weeks as advertised on the Ghana Embassy/Consulate Internet Website - that is PRETTY IMPRESSIVE !!. I have helped another lady renew her passport with the same effect. You can complete the Passoport form online, print and mail it. If you don't know ask, or you can purchase the forms separately by mail. Note that with the "Tracking Number" we can collect statistics on the "response times' of the Embassy, instead of using isolated cases to judge their performance.
My experience is that Ghanaians living in the viciniy of the Embassy have "this mentality of not planning ahead", but prefer to rush to the embassy at the last minute, hoping to "jump ahead of the queue". As far as Passport Application/Renewal, I am willing to vouch for the embassy in the U.S.- they have done a good job.

The supreme Court ruling was when and on whose case? This is common sense but a country where rules are misuse and benefit some class of people, all applicants should team up and we sue the Ghana government for refund.

These days one can do everything on line without the need to go to the high commission.
If you are sure, write to the Minister for Foreign affairs. That may be the only way to stop crap.

It's worse in DC,they collected $200.00from me and then denied a dual citizenship for me and my son.the receptionist is another story.this is not NDC problem the same attitude was there during NPP too

My recent experience for Visa with their online/mail service was excellent!
I was there last year and was treated with urgency when time was runnig out for my children home coming from school. No body asked me for money.

A problem we can solve ourselves without any external publicity. Refuse to give to give, make a scene and report it. It is your right. Demand it.
