'Away' and 'bye bye' are two chants that could be heard throughout the inner parliament chamber as members of the minority side staged a walkout before the president began his State of the Nation Address.

The Majority side who were not perturbed by their colleagues' action broke into a harmonious victory song 'Aba mu awie' to wit 'it has come to pass' as some of them moved to occupy some seats of the minority side.

The MPs on the minority side who were bearing placards and posters with inscriptions about their disapproval of management of the economy left while repeating a particular part of the national anthem; “and help us to resist oppressors rule with all our will and might forevermore”.

The placards minority members were displaying were destroyed by security agents in the House.
