The burial rites for the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III has entered the final day with dignitaries, royals, and mourners thronging the funeral grounds to bid farewell to the revered queen mother.

During the solemn ceremonies, a group of female mourners drew attention for apologising to the former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for not voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.

In a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the women openly admitted that they had cast their ballots for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but now deeply regretted that decision.

Some of mourners were heard saying, “We voted for the NDC, we regret for not voting for the NPP, we are apologising to Nana Addo. NDC deceived us.”

Their apology came when they saw Akufo-Addo paying his last respects to the late Asantehemaa.
