Is Abedi playing a Plato (that Philosophers should be kings; in other words, they should rule)? Plato’s argument is very much in line with what he defines as democracy, the rule of the unfit. His argument may be valid, in the sense that he explains that these philosophers have “capacity to grasp the eternal and immutable” (Plato; 2007, 204), while common men are blind as they have “no true knowledge of reality, and no clear standard of perfection in their mind to which they can turn” (Plato; 2007, 204-205).
To Abedi, football should be ruled by the 'fit people'. In other words, people (ex-footballers) who have had a real test of how playing football is like, should manage or handle the affairs of football. These ex-footballers "have the capacity to grap the eternal and immutable, while the common men (may be the likes of Nyantakyi, the disgraced Sepp Blatter etc) are blind as they have no true knowledge of reality, and no clear standard of perfection in their mind to which they can turn".
Abedi may be right to some extent. The disgraced former FIFA President, Sepp Blatter jumps to mind effortlessly, but we shouldn't forgot Michel Platini - a legendary footballer.

Abedi you are right on point, Ghana Bar Association is managed by lawyers, GMA by Doctors, GNAT is Teachers, GRNA by Nurses, Unemployed Graduates Association by the unemployed etc, so why should GFA be done by non footballers
