Ghana is paying six times its total oil revenue as interest on the country’s total public debt stock; that’s the computation done by former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
“We’ll reach GHC99billion by the end of this year,” the Running Mate to the Flagbearer of the biggest opposition Party said in a post-budget presentation interview with Richard Sky of Citi FM.
“The interest on this debt alone is going to be six times Ghana’s oil revenue,” Dr Bawumia said.
“When we found oil, we were happy that we found oil, but the borrowing of this Government has compromised the whole oil discovery; you need six times our oil revenue just to pay interest on the debt, not even capital, so, it is a really sad development,” he complained.

Please compare the corruption under NPP in only 8 years with that of PNDC/NDC of over 20 years and you will see that NPP in only 8 years outdid what PNDC/NDC did. Corruption is bad and must be condermed no matter which party is involved but to now take sides is totally wrong. We all witnessed the corruption under Kuffour where he turned the Castle into a den of corruption taking bribes left and right (so said by his own party chairman) not to talk of Hotel wawa, his Finance Ministers corruption which till now has not been punished, the looting under the guise of Presidential initiatives, the drill ship which Akufo was implicated, now the payment to his party chairman Peter Ala-Adjetey of $4.9m. The oil deals under Kufour that has now left this country without any benefit from the oil find The passport and drug deals inder Akufo leading to the burnt Ministry of Foreign Affairs building and the Parliament building when Akufo's involvement in the Dril ship sage was unearthed.It appears to me there is something behind this vendetta and that you need to be saved from yourself as you yourself has reached a point unable to see what people are seeing and for which they are cautioning you.

There may be a problem of understanding the English language by whosoever drafted the NDC Government Manifesto White Paper but the Supreme Court decision could have been resorted to in finding out which year’s office of the Attorney-General applied for the certiorari.
Unfortunately propaganda and suppressing political corruption on the part of this Government is so foremost on its agenda that it is blinded to see that the Attorney-General’s Department to be sanctioned will be NDC 2’s Attorney-General’s Department as recommended by the Commissioner.
