Does the NDC government think, despite the massive corruption, they can borrow recklessly and spend their way foolishly into another mandate in 2016, when the nation is over burdened with HIPC and workers wallowing in hunger and over taxed?
Governance under the NDC government is all about deceit and 'opium of the people'. They enjoy everything under the sun but ask us to wait for our basic needs in heaven. And as they ask us to tighten our belts for future betterment, they have already loosened theirs for immediate consumption. In my opinion compiling a new register without any guarantee that this will eliminate multiple registration, the best course of action is the clean the existing register of all multiple entries.
Anyone found to have registered twice should be turned over to the police to be prosecuted because it is a crime under the law.
Cleaning the register this way will ensure that no one will engage in such act in future and it will cost the country less.

My only two cents to ECG is to do the following and watch those calling for a new register squirm:
(1) No single ID will be good enough unless accompanied by birth certificate of parents and grand parents.
(2) No one gets a voter ID unless a verifiable residence address is established
(3) A valid copy of a utility bill of applicant or landlord must be provided for verification.
(4) A government validated birth certificate of applicant must be provided.
The above list of requirements must be met by all applicants to ensure that in 4 more years from now a bunch of saboteurs will not come up with a scheme to challenge voter registry and name list.
Requirement #1 above should establish birth place and rights of parents of applicants as Ghanaians.
Requirement #2 establishes residency, district and constituency.
Requirement #3 establishes basic moral turpetude required of all law abiding citizens. Criminals lose their voting privileges because they're caught and prosecuted but there are a whole lot in society who commit crimes against state each day without notice. The least test is making sure the right to vote is premised on basic morals and civic responsibility.
Point #4 establishes age and citizenship of applicant. Age as a requirement is premised on a government right to prosecute voter if the voter is caught and or suspected of being a fraud. How about that folks?

About half of them need to be purged. Please take a deep look ino the faces of these street hawkers from Accra central through tema toll both and on Nima highway, and I can assure you I have seen animals in the jungle, I have seen monkeys and chimps in the world, and they are prettier and cleaner.
Many civilizations have undergone genetic transformations whereby the newer generation have finer features than past generations. In Ghana it seems like people are giving birth to deformed and uglier humans than back in the 50s 60s and just up till early 80s. It has to be considered a national crisis. Even a few visits to Legon campus yielded a similar result, so many ugly as in physically unattractive students both male and female. Most disturbing is the primary school kids. You can't even distinguish little girls from the boys.
