Our people need to be educated on the relevance of local government.
And then we need to decentralize our system. Only in Ghana, EVERTHING, you have to go to Accra. Why? A modern nation competing in the 21st century? That is exactly why people don't see the importance of local elections, because everything is dictated from Accra. As I sit here in US typing, my coworkers, 95% od them minimum have never been to the US capital. Why? Because there is no need. Anything they need they can do from their locality. You don't have to travel to Washington to process your pension papers, passport, visa, purchase certain items etc. Ghana ye ekurasi kuraa dodo.
