Instead of a bye-law to throw people who create filth in our streets in jail, these buffoons in government want a by-law that will compel every citizen to take part in National Sanitation Day. How will these fools implement such a bye-law. In many normal countries the world over, littering is an offence punishable by on the spot fines when one is caught. In most of these normal countries, the government has provided dustbins/garbage cans at every convenient corner of the streets so that those who litter would have no excuse for littering. But Ghana is not a normal country - it is backward and crude, and that is why you have a government that wants to pass a bye-law to catch not those who litter in our street, but rather those who fail to join National Sanitation day. What a bunch of fools and dunderheads.
Cleanliness/Sanitation must start in our classrooms and supported by our laws. To paraphrase the the famous Chinese proverb, teach the hungry and they will never go hungry again. Our elementary and High School curriculum must emphasize sanitation and cleanliness at home and on our streets. That is how you raise a clean generation, not passing mindless bye-laws. With this kind of stupidity, is then a wonder that our economy is in a mess? We need people with common sense to govern, not people with hollow minds.

It is this kind of silence by Akufo-Addo on crucial issues that often deepens people's doubt of his integrity. Why couldn't he immediately come out to deny ever using the State Vehicles after leaving Office?
Now, typically, he is using his minions like Karbo to make his case for him. People would believe him more if he boldly and promptly responded to issues like this that have the potential to ruin his chances for the NPP in the next Elections.
We have seen this kind of attitude with Akufo-Addo before, especially with his "Yen Akanfo de...'all die, be die' " utterances, the assault on the NPP Headquarters by his supporters brandishing machetes, the C25.00 bribery allegation to the NPP delegates leading to the Parties Primaries and many more.
Such silence could only mean either of two things:
1). that he is too arrogant to even give any attention to such perceivably frivolous charges, or allegations against him, and hopes ignoring them would make them simply dissipate from People's mind;
2). that the charges have merit and he is buying more time to find the best formulation of his explanation to win public approval.
In almost all these cases, Akufo-Addo hasn't been helping himself much. And it is only with the persistent self-destruction of the NDC Administration Officials that has kept Akufo-Addo's general reputation still any significant among the Public. If Mahama's Government had been able to fix much of the current problems like 'Dumsor, Dumsor', the free-fall of the Cedi value, and the insolent mouthing off of his inexperienced junior Staff, Akufo-Addo would have been long left exposed as dangerously passive to the sensitivities of the Public, and be seen as grossly unattractive for the Presidency for his lack of timely engagement.
Right now, the man is still counted in for the contest for the Presidency on the basis of relative comparison. It is looking more and more like the better of two mediocrities.
If Karbo wants to convince the Public of his Master's innocence before the case is proven in the Courts, let him produce documentary evidence to support his defense of Akufo-Addo. For example, a document showing, undeniably, the date the vehicles were returned to the State.
While in the Courts, the onus of proving the charge lies on the shoulders of the accusers, and Akufo-Addo remains innocent until proven guilty, in the Public domain, it is the other way around. That is what makes such charges eligible for immediate refutation by the accused, if untrue. In the Public opinion, charges like this easily gets traction, and even, stuck. When they get stuck, these allegations tend to be hard to uproot to restore the reputation of the accused to its former level.

It could be hugely distractive and more seriously, damaging to his reputation. In like manner, Akuffo-Addo does not have to or indeed need to respond to such petty-minded allegations. The two sponsored claimants have gone to court. Let the law take its course. There's absolutely no need or obligation for Nana to engage in a public spat. That is not arrogance, my brother. It is called matured credibility management. Why would Karbo have to publicly produce documentary evidence for a case that is in court? You see sometimes your own biases discolours judgement, otherwise you will not be making such a call. You incidentally go on to contradict yourself by suggesting that the onus of proving the charges lie with the claimants.So why the rush in asking Karbo or for that matter Nana Addo to produce public evidence ostensibly to douse the argument?
