Daughter of New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo is reported to have driven into the official vehicle of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
Fummy Gyankroma Akufo-Addo ran into the vehicle of Mr Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur while drink-driving, police sources said.
The issue has just been reported although it happened in August.
Ms. Akufo-Addo did not stop but sped off with her friends after causing damage to the Governor’s car, police sources said.
She was later arrested and taken to the Cantonments Police Station, where she admitted her offence.
“There was an accident that occurred involving a young lady [and] the vehicle of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana. We investigated the case and the suspect driver was charged for careless and inconsiderate driving and then driving under the influence of alcohol,” District Officer of the Cantonment police, DSP Alex Kumangtani, said.
“She was put before court and she was fined.”
Meanwhile the NPP flag bearer’s campaign team says this is not an issue they wish to discuss.
