Ghana's problem is not the system but the players. The people are corrupt and will corrupt any system in place including this very constitutional review process. OMG!!

But for our corrupt Minister and officials. The Black Stars proved what they could do by drawing with Germany. They even nearly defeated the Germans but for the selfishness of Jordan Ayew. Our ignominious drop out was because of our greedy and corrupt officials, including a Governmen which either loots or misapplies every penny that comes its way. They all deserve slaps from Muntari

this govt due to their anti Akan agenda and discrimination saturated by hate and envy of the Akans can never do anything right or good . Their wickedness is so deep in their subconscious and conscious that its fully geared to destroy the Akan economy so anything they think will benefit the Akans will be sabotaged , ignored or thrown out . we have no choice but to regroup and do as much as possible without involving the govt , ndc or these pepeni/ayigbe mafia criminals . Corruption , discrimination based on their tribalism , hegemony and chauvinism has eroded all unity within the nation .Akans all over the place are waking up , with the BA chiefs voicing their reservations about GMO , western region , central region are protesting under their breaths , our dear Ashantis have made their position clear so we expect the political parties with understanding of the Akan plight like the cpp , ppp and npp to stand up or be forgotten. We can not wait another 2 years as by then the damage will be cemented beyond repair . Eyered is now everywhere and we reluctantly realize only a bloody revolution can set our people free . Its not that they are unprepared of do not know what to do to get Ghana back on track but the hate in their hearts make them continue on this path of destruction of the Akans . they are doing EXACTLY what they planned to do so dont be fooled

I am sorry that a piece of this kind is allowed on Ghanaweb which is a forum that commands a lot of respect amongst its world-wide readers. Please this kind of piece must be taken off this forum to send a clear message to all that this is a place for the enlightened and civilise readers and contributors. Who in this day and age wants a country based on tribe, race or religion? Yet this author of this piece that is very discredited both in content and sobriety keeps posting it everywhere and under any news item whethern it is related or not. I know he is playing politics for the party he supports in Ghana but this is the wrong way. You do not work for the victory of your party at any cost i.e. at the expense of an entire country. It is not right! Parties in Ghana a modern state, were not and are not formed based on tribes/religion or race. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of blessed memory had passed a bill in the Legislative Assembly back in 1951 when he was elected leader of Government business against parties that were formed based on tribes and religion and it received the overwhelming endorsement of the house and therefore came into force as law. Why advocate for this bankrupt and backward idea 63 years after? Pl you are sitting in your UK/USA and you do not care for your countrymen who have stayed to work to keep the country so that there can still be a contry called Ghana. As you are out there if your fellow white citizen of the country you have adopted as your own now and dropped your Ghanaian citizenship discriminates against because you are black or African how will you take it? Please look at countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Central African Republic, Rwanda, La Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria (Boko Haram), Kenya and Somalia. Who can fix Africa for us other than Africans and if we don't broaden our thinking, but still remain imprisoned in this primitive stone-age mind-set how can we? If this does not make you change your thinking then please you have taken yourself out of civilised community and you have no business doing in this forum. If you want to canvass for support for your party come with ideas but not based on issues a person had no choice on how he came into this world i.e. tribe and where a person is born; which have no bearing on science and economics of managing a modern society. GET A LIFE!

nobody is buying your propaganda , everybody sees our problems are due to the hegemony and tribalism of the northerners and ewes . got onto any tro tro and talk this nonsense you have written here and you will be lucky if you are not beaten to a pulp immediately . all successful nations of the world except the USA first sorted out their nationalism/tribalism before moving forward , here we have northerners who want to through the institutions of state abuse the rights of all others . democracy in its essence is a govt of the people and by the people and not trickery to keep you mafia pepeni/ayigbe idiots in control . yes we want our own Akan nation without traitors and fools like you . the disintegration of all these countries you mentioned happened because wise men kept quiet or ignored the signals . now is the time to talk before the worst happens . for your info i support any party that loks out for the interest of the Akans and is willing to stop this anti Akan hate and discrimination

We are always quick to jump to blaming systems that have failed us in our young nascent democracy. In our eagerness to blame systems and shift from one system to another,we loose sight of the fact that our problems lie with us,the people not the systems.
As we stand today in Ghana,Jesus can bring a new system into our country and it'll not work!!!
Our problem is US.Our attitude stinks. We use to look at government as alien and rightly so under colonialism. That state of mind never changed when we became custodians of our own affairs. All these talk about doing away with "winner takes all" is rubbish.Of course the winner should take it all.The looser must accept loosing and stop whining.Go back to the drawing boards, work hard to win the next time around.
This attempt to re-invent the wheel is nothing but rewarding incompetence, laziness, shoddy work, lack of motivation and failure to see the power of rewarding the innovative mind. Those so called recent day born progressives who have consistently failed in their endeavors must give it a break.
LET'S REWARD HARD WORK AND COMPENSATE THE INNOVATIVE MIND AND WATCH OUR NATION DEVELOPMENT SCALE UP DRAMATICALLY INSTEAD OF FINDING WAYS OF REWARDING MEDIOCRITY.

There is no effective remedy to heal this cancerous state of political malaise than this WTA.This is one of the major unfortunate situations that has crippled the economic development in most african countries, specically Ghana, where wealth distribution is concentrated more in the south and more remarkably in the hands of a group of political sympathisers. This has led to a freeze in investments when a winner takes all government happens to be the making of either of the political divide. The resulting effect is stagnation of the economy that not only affects the haves but also the have nots. The abolition of this WTA could be the only way forward and the earlier this is implemented the better.Ghana is certainly blessed with talents and entrepreneurs the taping of which will creat a paradise for all and propel the country into a serious economic force to be counted in sub-sahara Africa.I urge you all cultivate the courage and the good will to make this a reality and not a talk show and a waste of breath and time.

Winner takes all makes the criminals in politics amass wealth without sweat. For many of the so called politicians have no brains to make a living, unless he/she is helped by the party to exploit and rob the very people they are supposed to help. The 'motto' of the politicians is, make hay while the sun shines. No checks and balances; no accountability. We all live in the animal farm, we are behaving worst than animals and we call ourselves,-human beings, heartless, selfish, rotten beings indeed. We must not be content to accept society as it is. It is beholden on every one of us to seek to discover the causes of social unrest, injustice and fear, especially those which stem from our colonial history, and its impact upon the way of life of Ghanaians, and work to ensure that the sharing of 'the cake' and resources in our society is a genuine partnership regardless of political party one belongs. Living in the divided nation will take us back into the dark age. No nation can develop on the back of tribalism as we are witnessing in the country. Tribalism is not ideology-Nana Egyir Aggrey Snr citizen

In terms of constitutional reform, one thing that is greatly needed is a balanced budget amendment. This is the only way that excessive spending can be controlled and there can be fiscal responsibility. Supplying children with free food, etc.; providing free sanitary pads; not being able to meet obligations; and going further and further into debt is not the right way to go.
