People who are interested in this rather mundane conversation should listen to the full and complete audio – not just portions – before making any judgments, because it is very easy for mischievous people to manipulate portions of the audiotape to serve their own purposes. People should learn to play politics fairly – and not resort to dirty practices, such as secretly recording people without their knowledge. Indeed, Nana has publicly stated before that it's better to have an erring press that's free than to gag the press.
The 'toilet' papers, as you described them, know this and are taking liberties with him. They themselves don't believe what they write about the guy, and it's really hard to find anything else to do propaganda against him. But with the drug tag they hope to provoke him to take one of them to court, even for defamation, believing that will give them something to rail against his real record as the champion of free press and human rights.

Believe it or not, Nana was Ghana best court lawyer in his hey days. In case you didn't know your 'Tsator' was junior counsel to Nana on several occasions when they worked together in the past. Between the two, Tastsu might be the better academic, but he's no match for Nana Addo as an advocate in court. How I wished it were possible for Nana Addo to represent himself and the two other petitioners in court. The whole would have known what a true legal gem he is, a fact even Kpegah, the man who is today claiming Nana is not a lawyer for political vendetta, once acknowledged in his own court.
And in case you didn't know Nana Addo was very conflicted in the trial of Tsatsu under the Kufuor administration because of his close relations with the Tsikatas. In fact, he stayed away from the case, allowing, instead, the state-officials at the A-G to take charge. It was not until Kufuor became angry over a series of defeats that Nana Addo himself was compelled to take over the case, which action led to Tsatsu's conviction. And contrary to all the claims that the NPP government packed the courts to obtain a conviction against Tsatsu, no such thing happened. By the supreme court procedures, a review of a supreme court decision has to be done by a higher and uneven number, so two more justices had to be empanelled to hear the review. Nana won the review fair and squarely. But ignorant people like you bought NDC's propaganda. In fact, Kufuor reshuffled Nana from the A-G's office to foreign affairs because his decision to initially stay away from the case led to mistrust on the part of Kufuor.
