This guy came to the job offering no real vision for the nation, instead he only served up absolute nonsense - Ede be keke - which for some, loosely translates into just existing at the wheels, not knowing which direction to go. To add insult to injury, he is telling us that, like a car, he is only in the first gear in a four-year term, so we can expect to see a fourth gear only in the fourth year. To hear that allegory from a guy and a president who had been a vice-president for the previous four years, and claims that because of the ill-health of Atta Mess, he John Mahama was really the one in charge behind the scenes, then we have reasons to conclude nothing good or extraordinary can be expected that is different from what we have seen from the last four years. The value is going to be the same, and corruption is going to consume all of us under Mahama. Our people tell us, 'Edwa beso'a efiri anopa', to wit, one can gauge the prospects of a good market day from the signs the morning activities project. Right now the country is sinking fast from all reliable indicators. In the last four years, the cedi has depreciated a whole 100 percent under Mahama and Atta Mess. What other assurances are we waiting for? To be hit on the head with bricks?
Look, John Mahama is not cut for prime time, he does not know how, and all his protestations are excuses to cover incompetence and corruption in high places, of which him and his party are direct beneficiaries. What the fuck is Ede be keke? Nonsense!

What does Nana Akufo-Addo mean by NDC's "failure". At least he could have done himself and readers a lot more good by giving details of what he defines as "failure". Those of us who know Nana well enough understand that after two succesive failures of his own to win the presidency, he is not only struggling to make himself relevant to the NPP, but he is also preparing himself for yet another go at the flagbearership of his party.
For the last two reasons, he cannot be faulted. For him and for his compatriots in the NPP "power sweet"! So expect Nana to keep trying until he drops dead! The other argument about the NDC's failure is what I find interesting. Fact is, the NPP never accepted John Mahama as president until seven (7) clear months after the 2012 elections. In fact, Nana Addo and NPP challenged his legitimacy, even to the extent of refusing to vet the ministers he appointed to help him govern the country.
In effect, as far as the NPP is concerned, President Mahama effectively "became" president only in August, after they reluctantly accepted the Supreme Court ruling confirming him as duly elected. In this scheme of things, is Nana Addo and the NPP judging the NDC's performance over the four months that they recognized John Mahama as president, or they are roping in all the months during which they contested his legitimacy?
To even evaluate President Mahama over 10 months is very unfair. The constitution stipulates four (4) years for governments to be judged at the polls, because the framers understood that the reasonable period for such an evaluation cannot be four (4) or eleven (11)months or even one (1) or two (2) or three (3) years, but four (4) years!! One would therefore wonder why Nana Addo thinks the period between the Supreme Court verdict and now is long enough to evaluate and declare the NDC as a "failure"!
Nana Addo is so itchy to come back to power and this has numbed his senses into forgetting that the fundamental problems facing this country might take even more than the stipulated two presidential terms to solve. If not, why did the NPP not solve ALL of Ghana's problems over two terms before leaving power?
As a people, we all have a duty to contribute towards making Ghana a better place for its people and every citizen, Nana Addo included has a right to criticize government if they so wish. But the saucy habit of the NPP to always run down other governments and pretend as if it is the only party that is destined to rule or has the capacity to solve all of Ghana's problems is not only fussy, but actually bothers on cocky arrogance.
Nana Addo may have the right to run for president as many times as his strength would support him. But to start a dirty political campaign less than four months after accepting the legitimacy of President Mahama is the hieght of hypocrisy. Besides, I don't think Nana Addo needs to sound that desparate for power or even pretend that Ghana is collapsing and needs him or the NPP as the saviour.
When the time comes for change, nothing can stop it! After all, nobody thought that the PNDC/NDC would ever lose power until the year 2000 arrived. Again, nobody thought that the NPP would ever lose power to the NDC after eight years of demonizing the latter - until the year 2008 arrived. In the same way, nobody must be under any illusion that the NDC will stay in power forever! One fine day, the NDC would have to pack out, but until then, Nana Addo and the NPP would do well to allow the President to do what he is mandated to do according to his abilities and capacity. This bitter political campaign that began from 8th January and is probably continuing till thy kingdom come will never take this country anywhere!!

Personally, I think that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is a good man, except that he cannot be come president for Ghana or in Ghana, such is the case. I would like to see Ghana transformed in to a well developed nation rapidly, and that must start with a “Take Off,” at all cost. It requires selfless individual Ghanaians to do this. Perhaps, another candidate may try, and might succeed becoming the president come November 2016.

He could not help Ghanaians in the Gambia and could not get the release of those unlawfully arrested, murdered or sought compensation for their families. It was J.D. Mahama that brought relief to those people after the NDC came to power.
As the Foreign Minister, he issued diplomatic passports to drug carriers, hair salon operators and prostitutes to do nefarious activities around the world. At the end, he could not account for 500 diplomatic passports that were under his care.
With such a tarnished record, I cannot vote for the Kapwepwe to become the President of Kwame Nkrumah's Ghana.

On the day the elections were declared, Nana tried to bully the Electoral Commission to make him president. He failed, as the Electoral Commissioner stood his ground. In the end, your darling man had to waste 7 months of our precious time by sneaking behind the Supreme Court in an attept to overturn the results in his favour. That too failed. The new slavery system has taken over in our modern era, in this era is not about selling your follow human being to them, but selling your conscience to them. Then if modern slavery is about selling one conscience to the westerners then it means many Africa leaders have sold their conscience to them? Apparently yes. What I’m saying it takes critical thinkers and nature incliners to understand and know that am speaking the truth. Now Africans leaders have sold their conscience to the westerners, so the leaders are enemies to their citizens, so now Ghanaians or Africans are still slaves to west through their leaders. They have set our leaders as billboard but in reality they are still operating their slavery system and at this time with our prominent people of which some people consider them as literate in our society, that is why in my early written I stated that Ghana education is pseudo education with pseudo intellectuals it will be hard for any educational elites in Ghana to identify this if am lying.

In United State of America system of government if you’re a governor and you refused to go by some secret society in USA constitution then definitely you will be assassinate example is J.F. When one becomes president in Africa and he/she is going for loan this is what they asked him/her are you going to use our constitution to rule? because they are slaves already they agree to them and after collecting it they begin to sell out the nation assets to them and devalue some valuable things in the nation, some of our leaders sold some nation assets to the Europeans for them to have power again in our nation, some of them devalued the education system, the currency etc on what grounds can Africa country buy a national assets in western countries? But when you come to Ghana you see the western countries buying our national assets oh what a moron country with moron people, anyone who doesn’t believe in slave trade, this form of slave trade is there for you to see. Now in the olden day’s slavery, they were selling humans but at this time our billboard leaders are selling the national assets and have devalued our valuable things such as our education system and our currency. The back bone of any country is education; any countries which have good education system develops so as it currency as an economic factor, now how can we say about Ghana? Poor education system and poor currency oh Ghana why? Now the nation is financially handicap and the leaders have filled their tummy with the national money corruption has become a canker among our leaders.
Condoleezza Rice, US general secretary in former President Bush administration once attended AU meeting and addressed our leaders not to trust east or west because they are coming for their own interest but not the interest of Africa, but what do we see because our puppet or billboard leaders have sold their conscience to them they still follow them, no wonder we are still slaves. We are still slaves my brothers and sisters, let’s not deceived ourselves that we are in the 21st century so everything has changed, it’s still going on, our national assets are been sold to them now they have say in our affairs oh God have mercy on poor Africa Ghana, you’re not in chains so you think is not true but it is happening day in and day out right in front of your nose. When our leaders come as president ministers and mps, they only think about themselves and how to sell a nation asset to their master. How can a president after looting and sold the national assets through dubious means and upon all the money he looted still demanding for an ex-gracias? How a president can kill some people because they have some little amount of money in their accounts and also have borrowed money from the bank and this same president sold national assets to his wife, looted the state, devalued our educational system and then sent his children to school in abroad? How a president can increased his salary 100% and are paying huge amount of judgment debts to some people? How a president can devalue our currency, sold national assets and sent away his follow Africans to their country? So you see the list can go on and on without endless, they all puppet or billboard leaders who are serving and were served the interest of the west by sending us to slavery.
No matter how you will vote for NPP or NDC they are all puppet or billboard leaders whose aim is to send us to slavery so citizens be careful don’t let these people ideologies entice you to fall a victim they have done and have succeeded. So why are you worry about these stomachticians who called themselves politicians whiles we can kick them off? So why are you worry about our puppet or billboard leaders while we can kick them off? Dear Abagna if you read my post well you would realise i did not vote NPP. We can argue the merits and demerits of the election petition over and over but the outcome will still be the same. NDC accused EC of rigging the election in 2000 and 2004, NDC went to court but did not have the capacity to challenge EC in court. So i am not suprised if any party accuses EC after election. My concern is Ghana and the economy. I saw 8 years of NPP and the current 5 years of NDC and in 3 years time, performance of the party as a whole is what will determine who i vote for and not just who leads it. I don't care whether he is Akyem, a Northerner, a Ga or an ashanti or whatever, they are all Ghanaians and they are all entitled to believe they are the best to deliver. I will vote for competence and past record on managing the economy, social interventions and projects and policies to help this country develop.

My real message is that in Ghana you can't rule out any of the big parties because the present party won by an insignificant majority that is nothing to write home about. It is dangeorus to be complacent and think the other party is a write-off. Kuffuor made that mistake and that is what made the NPP lose the elections. Kuffuor got too comfortable in his seat and spent more time travelling than running the country. As far as the 1969 elections are concerned, perhaps you are too young to know but the Progree party won by a very comfortable majority. The second bigget party, the National Alliance of Liberals won seats only in the Volta Region. NOBODY STOLE IT FOR PP. By the way and don't forget, in the 1979 elections, if it hadn't been for the UNC by Ofori Atta which took votes from the PFP, they would have won. My message is that don't write of any of the big parties.

I read most of the comments here and it is glaring they are majority NDC supporters who only support personalities and not policies and competency and that is a very sad observation. No sensible discussion of issues or policies but plain insults and name calling. Typical of people who have no sense of direction. 5 years and still no policy direction but one scandal to another.
Just in case you have forgotten or were not in Ghana, NHIS, School Feeding, NYEP, free maternal care, MASLOC, Free Cocoa spraying excercise, SADA, capitation grant, Metro mass buses were all policies and interventions introduced and implemented by the NPP Govt to help the poor.

Why is Nana not in Ghana touring the regions seeing Ghanaians and "pressing the flesh"?Does he not know that touring the country now rather than during the immediate pre-election period will allow him to listen to the concerns of ordinary Ghanaians and most important of all project the image of the "people's man"? Who are those advising Nana?Do they think an election in Ghana is won by spending inordinate amounts of time in London? Man go where the votes are."Press the flesh".Each hour spent in Ghana interacting with ordinary people (tro-tro drivers,farmers etc etc will yield huge dividends and is significantly cheaper than numerous pointless trips to glamorous London. What you don't realise is such claim of so called "tribalistic sentiments" you tag the party with is an insult to non Akyims and ashantis within the party and yet you turn around to call them tribalists. Remember Fifi Kwertey said a Northerner will never be president yet what do we have today. Is that also tribalism? Or it's one rule for NDC members and different rule for NPP members. If it were not for free education in the north which use to be one of the poorest region's, where would our current good Northners be? If it were not to be for the Cocoa marketing board scholarships which helped educate a lot of akans, where would they have been today? If you see that as an insult, then you can't stand the truth. You are part of typical Ghanaians who prefer to have facts wrapped up in cotton wool and can't stand plain painful facts which if we accept in good faith will guide our future policy initiatives.

Above all it requires an equitable deployment of resources not only during elections but right now to collect and analyse information. Schools for training polling agents must open now for qualified party agents to be well grilled on the constitution and other laws towards 2016.Such schools can run at weekends over the period. In the 21st century we need to adopt scientific mngt processes to win votes.
