Tsikata caused the mess which Kufuor's NPP astutely dealt with. All the available information point to the fact that there was no underhand dealing in the sale of the drill ship. NDC has tried for 5 years to stick mud on the reputation of Kufuor's NPP but at every point they have failed woefully.

What is a good thing to do especially is to help a situation get better. Nobody argue against the idea of NPP helping to get the drill ship sold to settle a debt of 47 million dollars that Tsikata created while with the GNPC though we werte aware he never did that with a very negative mind.
Thanks to God that Sam Jonah, one of the good business guys in Ghana of the Ashanti Gold Field said it was Tsikata who was the brain behind the discovery of Ghana's oil today.
A good point worth noting since some tribes within the NPP are trying to paint Tsikata as a bad fellow.
Our present question is where is the mysterious money in controversy, after NPP's efforts reduced the debt to 19.5 million dollars and the drill ship was luckly sold for 24 million dollars.
What every sensible, wise and rational Ghanaian needes to know is where is the balance and into whose accounts was the money paid and who are those people who took the responsibility of the sale of the drill ship?
As Ghanaians, this should not drag any of us into national arguments that this man is my party man or not so I have to argue to cover him.
I believe God is watching Ghana's matters very carefully therefore whoever play part wrongly, God will deal with them terribly by bringing upon those families plagues like in the days of old.
Whether somebody made the debt or not, the outcome of the sale of the drill ship is what we are now nationally interested in. If the money from the sale of the drill ship was used to settle the debt, then there is nothing hanging any more on the neck and shoulder of Tsikata, thus what we as citizens of Ghana want to know is where is the money?

After listening to Kweku Baako rant and rave through the entire 3-hr programme(Newsfile),I became more convinced about the value of a GOOD education - the type wherein you are trained to think on your feet! For all the 'high-pitch- decibles' he emmitted,he only ened up making a big fool of himself. Arguing from the central thesis that the main objective of the erstwhile NPP administration( under fmr.Pres Kuffour)was to restructure the GNPC and 'salvage' the corporation from "total mess",he proceeded to produce 'missing documents' and make submissions that tore the thesis into shreds. Thanks to the sensible contributions of Mahama Ayariga and Abraham Amaliba(two well-trained legal minds)we realized that the points Baako was streneously trying to make, did not make ant sense!
Why did KT Hammomd bypass an existing GNPC foreign account,and 'transfer', in rather circuitous way, the residual of $3.5 million to a GoG account with Chase Manhattan(now JP Morgan Chase)in NY? I can bet this is where the paper trail will turn into a "cold-case",because the new entity(JP Morgan Chase) will not have any records of this transaction! And of course Baako deliberately skirted the important point as to why key GNPC officials,seized with the facts of this case,were sidelined by the then govt. Even after the fact, what did KT Hammond tell the 'nosy' CEO, Dr. Ofori Quaah,their own appointee, who wanted an update on the transaction:"You did not send me anywhere,the President did". An impressive way to restructure and put an ailing corporation on a sound footing going forward, I`ll say!
And did anybody hear the legal challenge,he Kweku Baako, a non-lawyer, threw at Justice Yaw Appau,an Appeals Court Judge, as to the proper reading of certain provisions of the GNPC Act? This country has indeed gone to the dogs!
