The GFA has not been fair to Avram Grant. As a good coach having talented crop of players, he has ambition to achieve something great with the Black Stars. Presently, the entire team and potential players to be added are all in Europe and the US. He thus wants to be close to the players to effectively monitor and regularly interact with them for a better strategy. But GFA's empty pride is insisting that, he should stay in Ghana to monitor the local league even though we are well aware that no local player is really fit for the Black Stars. This is mainly because, for some years now, the best players in the local league constantly go outside year after year for greener pastures. Their poor management (scanty wages and poor facilities) stunt their development hence their eagerness to go out anyhow. That the GFA wants Grant to waste his time in Ghana to satisfy their empty pride, is his main frustration.

Sometimes I wonder why the GFA cannot invest in our local coaches, with the amount of money we pay these foreign coaches. Take 5 local coaches, use the moneys we pay a foreign coach to arrange to attach them for, say, 6 months to some good clubs with pedigree like Barca, Man City, Bayern, PSG, let them learn best practices there, bring them back home and use them collectively to bring quality to our national teams, as well asvuse them as facilitators to bring up more local coaches, pay them well, and see if in 2-3 years, it wouldn't be money worth spending to benefit our country. This Rapid Results concept of employing foreign coaches hasn't helped in the long run. Time for change.
