Goodfather, why invited the player? Anyway, I wanted to join this comment to yours and for strange reason it was attached somewhere else. Can you answer me this though? Here is what the article indicated
“He is doing well so far, just that I still need to work on him a little bit," Coach Appiah pointed out.
Why called a player when the coach knew that the player was not ready, that the player wasn't fit, as I may put it? A personal call (not invitation) from the coach could have been placed to the player for him to know that he is still in mind but want him to work on his fitness first. To me, the player could have taken it wisely and work hard to boost his fitness.
Who brought the player into the Stars' fold to begin with? Was the coach advised or ordered to call the player? Even if someone was to recommend Frimpong to Appiah, didn't Appiah access the player after the recommendation through one of Frimpong's club matches? If Appiah had the time to watch the player's performances in club level, wouldn't he had noted the fitness level of the player? Are you telling me Appiah didn't evaluate the players before he invited them? Is that what the article telling me?
Do we need an unfit player in camp with the position we are being placed? Like I mentioned in one of my comments, our backs are lean toward the wall. Zambia has been given 3 free point and 3 free goals from Sudan's mistake; however, we have to bear the consequences. Though, we had nothing to do with it. If Sudan was to play with the right registered players, I don't think Zambia could have beaten by that 3 goals given to them by Fifa. Now even if we beat Sudan, we have to defeat them by 3 goals in order to have the same goals aggregate. I know Head-to-Head rule would be used first when we are tired with Zambia, but after that goals aggregate is next.
Therefore, Appiah should know that this is not the time for mistakes. If a player isn't ready, one ready should should be called. Little mistakes like that could come back and hunt us. Appiah will need to think before he reacts.

Slim, tell journalists to interview Appiah in twi and all these nonsense will cease. If you follow the story line carefully, you'll realise a serious language expression there, which suggest that Appiah couldn't express himself well. " It's just so sad why after 50 something years of independence we're still struggling with english language." POW mentioned.
Bro, I will disagree with you on this one a little. The coach shouldn't be forced to speak a language he is not comfortable in speaking. Why can't he speak twi, the language he feels comfortable with, for someone to translate for him? Why the GFA wouldn't pay for someone to do so for him? Who is Appiah's PR? Milovan brought his own interpreter. Isn't it? When a coach or a player from Spain or Italy doesn't he speak his own language during interview? Don't they translate for them?
Yesterday, I was watching a documentary on the greatest player, Diago Maradona. He wasn't speaking in English but his own language. Even after his successful WC matches, during his interviews, it was his language he used through out. So why Appiah has to force himself to speak a language he can't express himself with?
To me, Appiah should feel free to speak what he feels comfortable in.
