Frimpong needs more work - Appiah

Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah says debutant Emmanuel Frimpong needs more work despite being impressed with his integration in the Black Stars team.

The Arsenal player on loan at Fulham has joined up with the Ghana national team for the first time since securing his nationality switch late last year.

Frimpong shook off a groin injury to complete the team’s first training session on Tuesday ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

And coach Appiah says he likes what he has seen so far of the 21-year-old but admitted some work need to be done to build the midfielder’s fitness level.

“He is doing well so far, just that I still need to work on him a little bit,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“He’s mixed up with the boys so quickly, he speaks the language and that is the good part of it.

“Once you can speak the language you mix up with the boys so easily and he feels so comfortable,” he added.
