The Board Chairman of Amakom Saint Paul’s Co-operative Credit Union in the Ashanti Region, Emmanuel Boakye Fapem, has called on financial intermediaries to prioritise the welfare of their staff to achieve better results.
He said creating a conducive working environment for employees is a key driver of growth and productivity in the financial sector.
According to him, when staff feel valued and supported, they become more committed to achieving the goals of their organisation.
Fapem made the remarks during a staff engagement session at the union’s headquarters in Kentinkrono on Friday.
He used the opportunity to highlight the progress made by the credit union over the past year.
He revealed that the union recorded more than 300% growth in assets between 2021 and 2025, with its assets increasing from GH¢14 million to GH¢58 million over the period.
The Board Chairman attributed the remarkable growth to the dedication of staff and strict adherence to operational standards.
He noted that honesty, discipline and teamwork have been central to the union’s financial success over the years.
According to Fapem, Saint Paul’s Credit Union has built its reputation on trust and prudent management, positioning it as one of the growing cooperative financial institutions in the region.
He commended the management, Board of Directors, staff and all stakeholders for their contributions towards sustaining the gains made by the union.
He urged them to maintain the same level of commitment to ensure continued growth.
For his part, the General Manager of the union, John Mensah, announced that the union will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Amakom Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Kumasi.
He said the meeting would provide an opportunity to review the union’s performance and take key decisions for its future.
Mensah called on all members of Saint Paul’s Co-operative Credit Union to attend the AGM and contribute to discussions aimed at strengthening the union.
