The Supreme Court judges were the first to break the law. They made a law on the NHIS registrants, and for the law they made to look backwards' take retroactive effect. O.B. Amoah who is a legislator was one of the lawmakers who made the law in parliament in 2010 that all those with NHIS cards could use the cards for voter registration purposes; that was the law. Then in 2016, the Supreme Court who had no primary business in making legislations, forced the Electoral Commission to delete the names of all those who used the NHIS cards from the voters register which deletion should take retroactive effect from 2012 flouting Article 107 (b) of the 1992 constitution?. What O.B. Amoah should do is to initiate a petition the the President John Dramani Mahama to remove the Chief Justice and the other 6 Justices of the Supreme Court who made that unconstitutional law. All the hullabaloo about this Montie episode emanated from that unconstitutional pronouncements by the judges; this is high crime and the judges should be severely punished! Listen again carefully to what the Montie 3 said on that day at the station and you would realise that they spoke the truth and never scandalised the court in any way.

The nearest is Article 42 which states thus: ' Every citizen of Ghana of 18 years of age or above and of sound mind has the right to vote and is entitled to be registered as a voter for the purposes of public elections and referenda'. Who told you that the NHIS card was introduced to be used by foreigners? When the names of the NHIS registrants were deleted by the EC and requested for re-registration, have you seen and foreigner attempting to go for re-registration. All those who went for re-registration are Ghanaians.. Concerned, you have a long way to go and you have to seriously consider educating yourself. You rather have the audacity to insult me a sincere and responsible Ghanaian.

Judicial independence does not stand in isolation of other provisions of the constitution. The Judges did what they believed to be right. It is their right under the constitution. Leave the President too to carry out his mandate under the constitution without dictators trying to steer him in the way they think.

The Montie 3 brigands are in a unique position to leave a lasting legacy in Africa if they truly show remorse, renounce and reform from that violent, raping, killing, insulting, incitement to chaos, anarchy, mayhem, murder, genocide, indoctrination John Mahama and his NDC party and gov't put them through to create that environment for the obliteration and collapse of the rule of law and our democracy with the ushering in of an autocratic dictatorial state given to impunity, recklessness, arbitrariness, nonsense-ness and crass irresponsibility.
The Montie 3 brigands must start preaching and renouncing that ideology and take it across the continent of Africa preaching against it, all across Africa that they were being used and employed by the gov't in power which faced a loss at the polls but felt the only way to hold onto to power was to stir up the kind of conduct and plans which landed them in jail. However, they have seen their folly, the 4 months have given them a whole new appreciation of democracy, the rule of law and not that of a strongman, with awesome powers like a God and the masses should vote out any govt that has failed the people and not lend themselves to the kind of irresponsibility that landed them in jail.
The Montie 3 brigands will then have fulfilled their cause in the realm of politics, democracy and the rule of law on the African continent. That is what should engage their attention not some pardon from anywhere because it doesn't exist and 4 months should give them enough time as to how to work this out.
This is their Damascus moment and like Saul, they must cease this moment to become the Paul's of democracy, the rule of law and responsibility, not the rule of a strongman who has lost an election and power and is contemplating how to hold onto it, regardless of the loud resounding voices of the masses, of the citizenry because, his warped intepretation of the Constitution is that he is entitled to two terms as a right and thus, he deserves it when his govt has been the worst ever in the history of Ghana, indeed since Ghana gained independence in 1957.

How does one undermine the powers of the judiciary by openly expressing that they'll not accept an order of the Court regarding the EC? isn't that free speech, unless Amoah's interpretation of democracy is one not yet published?

Isn't the unilateral action of the Justices in dragging the three before its Court an act that really undermines democratic principles? Since when was the Court granted the legal authority to CHARGE and try citizens? And with regard to being in contempt of court, what orders existed in the Court against the three prior to making their statements that could have had them as being in contempt of court?

The Supreme Court action against the NPP in the last election when it found two NPP members of being in contempt of court for making alleged threats on the lives of the Justices is not only a mockery of justice but also a clear abuse of power and a trampling on the Constitution. Similarly, the Supreme Court's action this time against the Montie3 is a continued belief of the Supreme Court that it can abuse its powers and have blind interpreters like Amoah to sycophantly defend the Court's undemocratic judicial actions.

Justice Akuffo was livid that the Attorney general did not bring charges the Montie3. The AG four years ago also did not bring charges against the two NPP members who were also found charged and tried by the Supreme Court. For why should the Attorney general waste time and resources charging citizens for expressing their constitutional right to free speech? These types of actions or charges are usually applicable to lawyers, an not members of the general public, for the Supreme Court has control on the conduct of lawyers. And even then, lawyers' conduct are free from being charged provided their expressions are wrapped in opinion.

The only reason why President Mahama should stay away from the Montie3 is that the action is a trap set up by Justice Akuffo to have the President get into a shuffling match with the Court. One should not that Justice Akuffo arrogantly proclaimed in the Court's decision that "no one controls the Justices, not even the President". The action of the Montie3 had nothing to do with any attempt to control the Supreme Court, not was the President involved in any attempt to control the Court.
