NDC flagbearer hopeful Professor Joshua Alabi is calling for the establishment of an independent electoral committee to supervise the party’s upcoming flagbearer elections.

He fears the absences of such a committee will undermine the credibility of the selection process.

Addressing the media about the demand Thursday, the Campaigner manager for Professor Alabi, Victor Adawudu said: “We urge the National Executive Committee of our party to put in place an election committee that will manage the process and supervise the election of flagbearer without fear and favour.”

Professor Alabi is being contested by 10 other stalwarts of the NDC including former President John Mahama, second deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, former Trades minister Ekwow Spio- Garbrah, former NHIA boss Sylvester Mensah for the flagbearership position scheduled for December this year.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Speaker of Parliament has said stated that Professor Alabi is the best person to lead the NDC into to the 2020 elections due to his marketable nature.

“I have discovered in Joshua Alabi the personality that can carry us across the river…he is the one individual that when you look at his profile…he is one person who has served his public due,” Mr Dzirsah told Bola Ray Wednesday on Starr Chat.
