Minister Afeku should be content with she has (MP and Minister, in spite of lack of National Service and pending court case), and leave the selection of the MCE to the people. Mr Frank has done well for the MP and the Party and could be rewarded elsewhere, but imposing him on the people despite non compliance of Article 462, Local Governance Bill, 2016 is an insult. The Honorable Minister should note that she should be the last person to break the law - inciting people to agitate, demonstrate and cause mayhem!!! The party hierarchy must not sit unconcerned.

The MCE position is also not an award to people who are said to serial callers or footsoldiers. there are a thousand and one positions out there for them and not the first statesman of a municipal assembly. Those with experience, the requisite academic qualification and loyality to the party will be appointed. I doubt that the president with all his knowledge and reputation will make such a blunder. The law is supreme and Art 462 of the Local government Bill 2016. Says it all. No first degree no appointment. Eyes are watching....
