Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is an honest political party which presents the truth to Ghanaians unlike their opponents.

“The NDC is a party that do not tell lies. What we cannot do, we do not say we will do it and whatever we promise to do, truly, we deliver,” Mr Mahama noted during an address to party supporters as part of NDC’s Unity Walk held in Tarkwa on Saturday, November 25.

The event is the fourth in a series of walks after similar events were held in Accra, Tamale and Cape Coast.

According to Mr Mahama, ever “since the change of power and the takeover by the elephant party, many Ghanaians are losing hope because they are not seeing what they [NPP] promised.”

He said the NPP promised $1million for every constituency in the build up to the 2016 elections yet they have failed to honour that promise almost a year after being in office.

He catalogued several other issues including petroleum prices, employment, ease of doing business, as well as other economic factors which he said the NPP promised to improve but was of the view that the President Nana Akufo-Addo-led government has failed to honour those promises made to Ghanaians.
