It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

The so-called professor that tried to embellish Nkrumah's economic record needs to go back to school again. These types of socialists' arguments could deceive Ghanaians in the 50s and 60s but they cannot do so now. Nkrumah was the first leader to introduce unsustainable debt into this nation by borrowing massively and unnecessarily to finance his whims and caprices. It was a misfortune that we had such a person as president immediately after the independence. He didn't lay a realistic economic foundation for sustainable development in this country considering the amount of money that was at his disposal in those days.
Ghana had about 1bln dollars in reserve when Nkrumah took over the reins of government in this country. Can you imagine the value of one billion dollars in the early fifties? Again, after 2years of Nkrumah's rule, cocoa prices at the world market rocketed and increased fourfold. But contrary to any sound economic planning, he did not reserve any fraction of the windfall for a rainy day, as the Whiteman had done with only one fourth of the revenue he got from cocoa. Apart from revenues we got from gold, timber and all the other natural resources, what did he do with the money accrued from the astronomical cocoa prices and the big reserve he inherited, which took many years to build for our future financial stability and sustainable development?
Kwame Nkrumah just went on a spending spree both in Ghana and around the world, throwing his weight about and talking big. So when the cocoa prices fell close to the end of his rule, he was quick to point accusing fingers at the West, blaming them for manipulating cocoa prices to sabotage the economy of Ghana and overthrow his government. Finally, after misusing all the money mainly on useless prestigious projects, failed communist agricultural projects, and whimsical mad-rush industrialization projects that could not withstand the test of time, he also burdened the young nation with another billion dollars' debt before he was forced out of this country.
The truth is that, Kwame Nkrumah met a rich confident country with a stable economy, and left it nearly bankrupt in few years as a result of gross mismanagement.

Everyone with a problem should be able to come up with at least one solution to the problem. No solution as an answer is not acceptable.
Countries train their doctors differently and award different degrees. It is high time we started conferring Doctor of Medicine degrees to MBChB students who have performed the necessary research projects as some countries do.
The current practice where newly inducted doctors called house officers with no experience whatsoever are left to experiment with (attend to) serious medical cases while residents, specialists and consultants are away must be put to a stop immediately. There must be at least one specialist present 24 hours in three shift rotations to supervise them. Our health system as it is presently is not the best. The situation in the countryside and rural communities is even worse.
Do not doubt the wisdom in these words.

Osagyefo told African countries to unite and pull their resources together to solve problems confronting Africa.Perhaps if Africa had united and pulled its scientific and medical resources together Africa would have been able to confront the Ebola menace without giving the imperialists the pretext of coming to help but with the ulterior motive of using it to recolonize Africa.Do we use soldiers to solve a medical problem? I will not be surprised if the soldiers sent to the Ebola hit west african countries are told by their respective countries to remain indefinitely to help fight Ebola.Meanwhile the rumour is flying around that America is responsible for the spread of the Ebola virus in west Africa. The AU must set up a high powered committee to investigate the veracity of this rumour. This rumour is so serious that it should not be swept under the carpet.Africans are not sub-human beings to be used for scientific experiments.

Ghana is capable of handling most of its affairs, but is stuck in a passive mode and an addiction to begging: help us, give us, lend us.
