The were all carrying babies on their back, and worst of all laden with goods on their heads, Street Hawking!!!
Ghana is a failed society. It has failed because during Nkrumah's era, we were decently on the path to being a highly civilized and advanced society. I would not elaborate on what i believe the causes are, but from my perspective, it would take either a massive natural disaster, a ruthless leader or brutal war to reverse this diabolical trend.
The entire populace is sick mentally and physically, because every single person I confront with this issue seems to want to defend and justify this backward behavior, often people you expect to know better. Truth be known, I am far more compassionate and philanthropic than all those pretenders I have encountered in my Accra Life!

Countries train their doctors differently and award different degrees. It is high time we started conferring Doctor of Medicine degrees to MBChB students who have performed the necessary research projects.
The current practice where newly inducted doctors called house officers with no experience whatsoever are left to experiment with (attend to) serious medical cases while residents, specialists and consultants are away must be put to a stop immediately. There must be at least one specialist present 24 hours in three shift rotations to supervise them. Our health system as it is presently is not the best. The situation in the countryside and rural communities is even worse.
Do not doubt the wisdom in these words.

I have done ward and teaching rounds with them and know the situation first hand at least at KATH in Kumasi.
House officer may appear to be working alone but behind the scenes are doctor supervisors.
Please stop scaring people on this tread.
If you think you have the evidence come forward with it and I will be happy to look or have my colleagues look into this breach.
This is an era of medical litigation in Ghana and some of my colleagues have gone back to law school just to add more salt to medical training to ensure patient safety.
Remember GMDC is our watchdog and if your assertion is true and have the evidence you can also report it to them to take action.

Ward rounds take place a few days from Monday to Friday. The system is not the best.
If you do have an MD then don“t be naive support my suggestion.

A question had appeared in a student's medical examination which read: "List four benefits of breast milk." A student began to answer the question: 1. No need to bottle it. 2. Cats can't steal it. 3. Available whenever necessary. But the fourth point eluded him.
When there were barely a couple of minutes before the exam ended, the fourth point flashed before his mind. So he completed the answer by writing: 4. Available in attractive containers.

3. For certain medications you can always mix it with the food of their choice
4. You can encourage, or use something like a toy or play food games by tasting it yourself or sing a song to distract them and you will be amaze of results.
5. There is more than above points but let me say lastly be patient with the child and make sure they are in the best of comfort before meals
