And glyophosate has been proven to be carcinogenic in parts per trillion. GMO foods have also been found to contain this product used to spray and it is passed on to those who consume it. The problem is that this is our FUTURE we are talking about. As for your examples of imported cereals etc., that is EXACTLY why we need to ensure that we protect the traditional farms/farmlands we have and not to introduce anything dubious so that we would continue to BEG for food from our 'MASTERS'. "Just do a little research...", you said? How much of the research from the critical groups has our 'Learned Scientist' read and analysed before coming to speak in absolute terms like this?! It is not a secret that companies facing critical issue often fund 'researches, seminars, workshops and conferences' to force their case through. Someone here , on this very forum, has mentioned the powerful cigarettes lobby, that for many decades taught us that their products are safe! Now that many Western countries are seriously trying to reduce the effects of smoking by banning public smoking, the companies are doing brisk business in the poor countries around the world! Do you remember the German drug, Thalidomide, given to pregnant women in the last century which has now been found to have caused a lot of havoc in people's lives? Now they are being made to pay huge sums as compensation!. How much money can we put on human life that has been destroyed? Why is the GM lobby now active in Africa? Is it because they want to save the poor African from hunger? I am afraid, NO. It is because, they are facing serious critical questions in their backyard. With the poor health infrastructure that we have, can you imagine the consequences if the unknown become a realty? There is one principle in scientific language that many of our 'learned boffins' forget. Science rarely speaks in ABSOULTE TERMS so for Madam to tell us that we should all shut up and accept it because it is absolutely safe is, to put it mildly, unfortunate!
