    The issue is not shortage of midwives, it is rather mal distribution of midwives. Most of them are posted to the urban areas leaving the deprived areas. There should be a strict posting policy to be followed.

    The training of Midwives must be prioritised. The lip service must stop. Kudos to the District Assemblies for continuing to support the training of essential personnel. More can be done and quickly please.
