Pharmaceutical manufacturing there is something called active ingredient i.e. what cures the disease. If you look at para. tablet the white you see is powder mixed with the active ingredient. What makes the drug expensive is the active ingredient, these products have less of the active ingredient to make it less expensive flooded for people to buy. The FDA has a minimum level the active ingredient must reach for the medicine to be approved. Tobinco initially brings in few products for registration that are made to meet the requirement and afterwards they asked the manufacturing company to reduce them and they bring into the country to sell. The FDA does market surveillance to check if the products on the market do meet the standard and that was when the used to grease the staff to keep quite until now that they are in collaboration with World Health Organisation to strengthen them that has brought all these.

Tobinco employs thousands of Ghanaians so it makes sense to ensure we don't kill off the company. Afterall they are still bringing in many other drugs that are still being used so if this one is not allowed, it makes sense to ensure the culprit or manufacturer feels the pinch not the buyer of the drugs

They may not be fake drugs. Those drugs are however unapproved to be sold in the country - Ghana, period! It is the right move by FDA.
