"The testes (testicles) are sometimes affected. One testis may become inflamed, swollen, and painful for about a week. This is uncommon in young children. However, about 1 in 4 males who get mumps over the age of 12 years will develop a painful swollen testis. Occasionally, both testes are affected. In very rare cases this may cause infertility.
Brain inflammation (encephalitis or meningitis) is an uncommon complication. It typically causes drowsiness, headache, stiff neck, wanting to keep out of the light and vomiting. Although alarming, meningitis caused by the mumps virus usually clears without any treatment after a few days, without any long-term problems.
Hearing loss can sometimes occur in people with mumps. This is usually only transient and usually improves with time. Very rarely, mumps can cause permanent deafness.
Inflammation of the pancreas, heart, and other organs are rare complications.
If you develop mumps in the first 12 weeks of a pregnancy, it may increase the risk of miscarriage. (However, the mumps virus is not thought to cause malformations or defects in an unborn baby.)"
I rest my case.

I was expecting the good professor to advice mothers to have their baby boys to be given shot against mumps. But he seems to be talking plenty without given this simply advice. I am very disappointed in him.

And also to apply hot and cold fomentations every two hours during the day for about nine minutes and should consist of three hot applications followed by one cold one to lower the patient's temperature.
Additional treatment for mumps/gyemirekutu should commence by putting the patient on a diet of orange juice and lukewarm water mixed together in equal proportions. Juices of other fruits such as apples, grapes and pineapple can be used as a substitute if orange juice does not suit.
A warm water enema should be administered daily during this period for cleansing the bowels.
The patient should take complete bed rest until the temperature gets back to normal.
There are several other natural remedies that could be used in treatment of mumps, but certainly not taking a VIRUS to combat a VIRUS.
It has been scientificly proven that the Boosted Immune System is the most effective method to fight infection of the Body.
