"88 pregnancy related deaths". Please have a health hall to counsel such women, regardless of their insurance status. ther should be serious discussion on how women just go to bed with men, without thinking of their future.
The health problem is a matter of filth everywhere in Ghana. The chiefs should be given the duty to educate the community of such precautions. Meaning a chief should be educated about health and such similar problems, There should also be competitions among the chiefs for keeping their communities clean. Honourable awards should also be granted to the chief and the community for working hard to achieving such an award As amatter of fact, it should be introduced in all the regions

if Dr Nuertey said the "Region has a total of 63 medical doctors compared with 103 at the Tamale Hospital alone" is indeed true and yet 250 medical doctors being trained at Cuba are coming back to serve the 3 Northern Region like the President said it at the IEA debate, what are the NDC government's plan for VOLTA (the acclaimed 'world bank') in regard to health?

I believe what the Regional Director said was taken out of context. This is because, Tamale Teaching Hospital is not the standard.

It is time trained doctors who are serving pastors serve the people directly by working as doctors. We will plead with Dr Dag Heward Mills to release doctors he has converted into pastors to go to work as doctors.

Well you need teachers too. Tell the teacher politicians to go teach in the roofless primary schools.
Stop talking nonsense and think for a while.

How many Voltains are medical doctors? Many of those. They won't go back to Volta region. The doctors from Volta won't go there for they themselves fear voodoosim.Force the Ewe medical doctors to go to their own region to serve. They are in their numbers in Asante and Brong Ahafo regions. Particularly, why are they in numbers in Kumasi? And the same Ewes will turn round and say Asantes hate Ewes.Force them to go to their own region to serve their fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers and uncles etc.Very funy people who boast of intellectuality, but their intellectuality does not benefit their own.Truth hurt very much.
A medical doctor can be called into God ministry. There is a need in that area too. Good and God fearing ministers are needed in Ghana to expose the gospel truth. So, my friend, asking medical doctors who have responded to God' call is not an answer to medical shortages in Volta Region. Medical doctors who are from Volta Region must be forced to go back and serve their own people. The God fearing ministers are needed so much to change the 'trokosi' culture in Volta Region among the Ewes so that they can see the light.Ewes may be angry at my response, but they should think of why their own professionals do not want to come back there and serve?

I don't agree with you but yes you are entitled to your opinion based on what you have heard. The real problem is in getting them to work here they promise them accomodations, allowances and, other things to convince and compensate them for working not working in an urban setting. The directorate and hospital do not honour this promise.

As many as 70% of Ghana's medical doctors come from the Volta Region? I think the Regional Director's figure is a mistake.

When did he assume that position and now that did he has seen that problem. He should sit down with the drawing board together with his regional senior officers and chiefs to analyse why voltarians in the Ghana Health Service unwilling to work in their own region, even though there are senior officers at the human resource in Accra involved in the postings.

If the authorities can streamline this process better, it can become a brain gain for Ghana.
