  Why should mother's be dieing in 2025 whilst giving birth? This should be something of the past. So many years after independence we are still struggling with this basic health issue. What a shame.

  Why won't they die if you build CHPS compound n one or two midwives posted without any modern equipment and in some cases no electricity. If midwives use touch lights to make deliveries, abobo yaa, motorcycles and pragyea as ambulances and no motivation for health professionals and you think maternal deaths will drop? Secondly, compounding the situation is fake pastors and prophets who put fear in their church members that only prayers will do everything including pregnancies that require caecerian sections (c/s). Some don't even allow pregnant members to attend antenatal clinics throughout and if delivery becomes difficult at home, hospital is the last resort and they get to hospital in bad state. In Rwanda where there's a regulatory body for religious activities, this nonsense won't be allowed to happen.

However, how can we have a regulatory body for religious activities when we have a President who is spending more time with religious leaders than with the business community and other progressive forces? Mahama is not a reformer. It is all empty words when he talked of resetting the country. Building roads across the country are necessary but not sufficient. A leader who runs to traditional chiefs/overlords seeking their blessings to succeed in office is a clueless leader. Kwame Nkrumah will never, ever do that. Please don't say I am an NPP supporter.
