Pay me Medical Staff appropriately and on time and they shall work. Pay them on time like our MPs are paid and see how they shall work. IF YOU PRETEND TO PAY THEM, THEY SHALL PRETEND TO WORK. That is logical, plain and simple. Is the way you pay the Medical Staff, particularly the Nurses the same way you pay the Politicians? We can live without MPs as we did at the time of Rawlings but can we live without Medical Nurses, Doctors, and other Healthcare workers?

Mr akando, I have heard rumors that u are about to be export professional nurses abroad..I don’t know if it’s true..but personally I call any politician that exports professional nurses, teachers, doctors etc abroad as less than animal..Infact any politician regardless of your party if u export your professional employees, it means animals have brains than u..even just take a look at the animal kingdom, when a dog gives birth to puppies and u try to take the little ones away from them, they try to protect them.why is it that in this 21st century 2025, u are selling your professional nurses and doctors..Infact Ghanian politicians are cursed..this is stupidity that needs to be stopped..Some Ghanaian nurses are already running away from Ghana, why must u engage in mordern day slavery of your professionals..stop giving allowances to nurses and use that allowances to build more hospitals and healthcare centers .this is modern day slavery..chai who will rescue Ghana..even animals protect their own species, how can u engage in modern day slavery..those countries that u want to export the nurses , I wonder if they don’t have human beings..aww Africa..the natural resources were not enough, now it has come to human slavery..aww daben very sad situation

Sometimes it’s very hard..I want to stay off Ghana issues but it’s very difficult..by statistics, we have close to 4-5million Ghanaians that have left the country ghana to seek for greener pastures abroad..as if that’s not enough, the little professionals especially in healthcare too, we have some cursed politicians that wants send the remaining citizens abroad for Pennie’s..how could u develop your country if u keep sending your youths especially trained professionals to go and be useful to other countries because u don’t even know their value..this is the same reason why slavery only happened in Africa because the leadership don’t even know the importance of human capital..it’s painful..even the almost 5 million Ghanians that have left for greener pastures, what are the measures and policies u are putting in place to bring them back to Ghana....those countries that u claim are interested in the Ghanian professionals, my question is, they don’t have human beings? Can’t they train their own professionals? Must Africans always be slaves..when is Ghana going to be slave-free..this is modernized slavery..Ghana must rise against this stupidity and know how to solve our problems within..chai

That is a step in the right direction. Patients must have a means of channeling their grievances. Our health care providers especially the nurses and the doctors have bad manners exhibited towards their vulnerable patients and Minister Akandoh has indeed done the right thing. Every hospital and clinic must have a complain unit overseen by an administrator who should not be a medical professional. If doctors and nurses know that they are being watched, they will behave accordingly. Every hospital must display the patient’s bill of rights so that patients will know their rights.

This Akandoh guy is just a joke. Look, I was once hospitalised at the Emergency Ward of LEKMA Hospital. In the morning, there were so many Emergency cases that the staff were overwhelmed. Only one experienced doctor and some few nurses were on duty. Then all of a sudden, a lady was rushed in who was unconscious. The family members brought her in and placed her on the ground. The medical personnel left all other patients and rushed to attend to her. How lift this fat Ga woman and put her on the bed was a problem for the medical staff. When I saw how the was releasing flatulence, I got to know how risky her condition has become. So being a patient myself, I had to jump down to help position the woman well for treatment to commence. So with this pathetic situation, how will someone complain that the nurses or doctors are delaying. The doctors and nurses should be given the free hand to work. That village and uncivilised guy called Akandoh should rather be relieved of his position to bring sanity to our hospitals. Let us note that I am not holding brief for corrupt medical personnel. It a fact that some nurses and doctors are very corrupt. However, we must use civilised means to fish them out but not use NDC thuggery to do so.
