Governments should prioritise critical machines over what they think will win them polical power. What will be the usefulness of the agenda 111 if it's not equipped with needed machines to treat patients. Let future leaders think of what is important than what will give them political power.

Karma has a nice way of teaching us lessons. Since that doctor started working at KATH, didn't he know the hospital didn't have CRUCIAL LABORATORY? This should a great lesson to the doctors and politicians in Ghana. The must know that it can also happen to them. Until this doctor died, did they complain? Would they have complained if the person that died was a palm wine tapper? The life you plan to save today could be your own life tomorrow.
I was at the KATH on 26 June before 6am. They announced that the NHIS network was not working so those with expired insurance and those with the ability to pay were directed to a different window. Those with valid NHIS but we're willing to pay were also asked to join. Patients resorted to calling their family members to send them money. Those with valid NHIS cards but inability to pay were denied health care on that day. I left there around 2pm without seeing a doctor. Our politicians must always learn something from this. It is not every time that they could be flown abroad. If you do good,........

What a pity to have such critically needed hand die from the lack of such a common facility readily available at cardio-centers abroad. I claim authority to speak to this matter because I happen to be a beneficiary of such intervention in a Hendensonville hospital, Tennessee on February 24, 2022. I pay special tribute Dr. Paul Kodelko who did this procedure on me. Mine was an 80% blockage to what was later to revealed as a “widow maker” : 80% blockage of the left anterior descending blood vessel of the heart.
Preceded by a series of dizziness intermittently over 3 years, the critical day arrived with painful numbness of my left hand and self-drove to the emergency room where I was referred to Dr. Kodelko after all emergency tests and the rest is history.
I was kept overnight overnight for observation after the angioplasty procedure during which a stent was placed to remove the 80% blockage. Thereafter, I was put on Plavix for one year and 81mg asprin for life. It was recommended I do cardio vascular exercise regularly. In my case I have secured for myself a recumbent bike which I ride 30 minutes in the morning and same in the evening. Thank God I am fit as a fiddle 3 years 5 months and counting.
Ghana can provide similar experiences to its citizens in Ghana. Presently, I am in Ghana and not wondering what my fate would have been had I been in Ghana at the time. Lucky me!!
