  Very correct statement. No one wants to invest in a country and move their family there if there is a risk of contracting cholera and other infectious diseases due to poor hygiene. Let's wait and see how Mahama's administration will tackle public health issues. One thing is certain: Ghana is a very, very filthy country. There is rubbish everywhere and the markets lacks basic sanitation. The food handling process is extremely poor, etc, etc. No wonder people are still suffering from cholera which under normal circumstances should be a disease of the past.

  As said we are waiting to see how Mahama is going to address health issues. Unfortunately, many African politicians think good health is synonymous to building hospitals, health centers (physical structures which people can see) and very little emphasis on public health. The vast majority of the population are suffering from preventable diseases which could easily be addressed through public health measures. There is therefore the need to strengthen public health across the country.
