Three doctors from the United States of America, under the auspices of the REACH Foundation, have visited the University Health Services, KNUST, providing free surgical services and training staff in minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
The team, led by Dr Kofi Asare Bawuah, an alumnus of the School of Medical Sciences, also presented various medical equipment, including intensive care unit beds, infant warmers, patient monitors, and more, to the University Hospital.

In addition, they donated a laparoscopic tower and two laparoscopes, with the total value of the equipment exceeding $250,000.
They were welcomed to the facility by the Director of University Health Services, Dr Nana Kwame Ayisi-Boateng.
Hospital matron Diana Appiah, receiving the donations on behalf of management, expressed profound appreciation for the REACH Foundation’s generous support, noting that the equipment would significantly enhance the hospital’s ability to provide quality care.
