You had sore throat when JM kept the lights on for one year? - DKB slams David Osei

Ghanaian comedian DKB has clapped back at actor Prince David Osei over his recent social media attack on President John Dramani Mahama regarding the country's power crisis.

DKB has accused the actor of what he described as political opportunism and selective memory.

Prince David Osei had earlier posted on X on April 27, 2026, that the Mahama name had become synonymous with dumsor, arguing that every tenure the President has served has been marked by power outages while electricity tariffs remain punishingly high.

DKB, however, was having none of it. He argued that Prince David Osei's criticism was driven by politics rather than genuine concern for Ghanaians.

He insisted that Mahama had actually solved the power crisis before leaving office during his first term and that it was the subsequent NPP administration that reintroduced load-shedding without any timetable for resolution.

"Yes, he has seen an opportunistic chance to speak. JM solved dumsor before leaving power. Your NPP sent us back to dumsor, without a timetable," the comedian fired back on X.

He also questioned why Osei had remained silent during the period when Mahama's government kept the lights on consistently.

"When JM kept the light on for one year straight, couldn't you pass a comment? Or you had a sore throat?" he asked.

DKB further argued that the current power situation was a technical infrastructure matter rather than a political failing. Stating, "It's a system upgrade, Masa."

Meanwhile, the Minister of Energy, John Jinapor, announced on Monday, April 27, that two generating units have been restored at the GRIDCo substation at Akosombo, adding about 280 megawatts to the grid, with a third unit expected shortly and all six units projected to be fully operational by the end of the week.
