Can somebody advice these youth that east or west home is the best. What at all can you get from a country like Libya? Moroccans, Algerians, Egyptians wish they can make Ghana their home country. Now the onus lies on the media as part of their civil responsibilities to enlighten people what can befall them if they embark on these deadly voyages.

Libya has been a no go area especially to blacks irrespective of where you come from and I see no reason why some people especially Ghanaians still go there. There has been history of atrocities meted out to blacks. There was a time some Ghanaians were evacuated from Libya to Ghana especially citizens from Nkoranza and other towns in the Brong Ahafo. I do not see why they still have to go there. Libya is not the only country that they can go and especially as they are not friendly, I see no reason why they should go there.

All Arabs are hostile to Blacks and treat them as slaves. No Ghanaian should go to Libya. They even kill each other.

Even ordinary Libyans are facing challenges. Ghanaians always hype difficulties so as to attract sympathy. The 500 Ghanains referred to are passengers who paid money to some Ghanaian connection men in the business of arranging charter flights to Accra. But the Libyan operators of the charter flights are said to be in a huge debt at Kotoka International Airport. There are reports that they have not been paying landing fees so they can't land at KIA. The upshot is that there is backlog and the connection men are helpless. They can't feed the would-be passengers who are camped in the centre of the city. The only solution is that the Ghana Airport Company should waive the landing fee on humanitarian grounds so as to allow these stranded Ghanaians to be brought home ASAP.

So the question is, can't they moved to the nearby countries where it would be safe for them to be assisted.

I've spent many years in Ghana as an ex-pat and always tell people who ask me the same thing: Ghana is beautiful, simple and worth staying for. The outside or western world has its own set of problems and Ghana needs its own youth to work on the challenges the community faces. Invest your strength, intelligence and vigor in bringing about whatever changes are needed at home. I love Ghana and its people. Staying home is a good choice and carrying forward the beloved traditions and strength of its people.
