I have watched a documentary titled ''The Ghost of Rwanda'' Everything that the Gen said is contained in that documentary. It was grisly in 1994, from April 1, to somewhere in July. Our Ghanaian peace keepers refused to leave Rwanda when there was an order for them to leave. The Anyidoho, and his Ghaniana contingent stood back and saved some lives. My respect to the Gen.- It is a must watch documentary.

I also concur with what the Gen said. I knew details of what happened prior to the big massacre starting from April (massacrss had already been going before April) and what transpired afterwards, and some of those details are still controversial and hotly denied by teh actors even though true, e.g., the role France played in the massacres, the complicity of Belgium, S. Africa arms supplies despite UN embargo and Congolese troops. I was then a research asst at Christian Michelsen Inst., Bergen, Norway, which won the contract to write the watered down mandate UN Report. When the lady in charge, Dr Astri Suhrke was compelled to mention the role of France in explaining the mandate of teh Report, France went berserk, demanded that it should be removed from the Report, and failure to do that, the $50000 they contributed towards the writing of the Report be returned! The lady stood her ground.
I was so disgusted with the whole hypocrisy and lying about what happened that I decided not to attend the major Conference held at the Radisson Hotel with Gen. Anyidoho at a main speaker. I provided some papers to one Babatunde and briefed him and urged him to attend. He became the star questioner at the Conference and came out of it very angry at the pretensions in the face of so much in the open. That is why story of what actually happened is still being narrated. I wrote and had published in The Monitor, Kampala, my version years ago, and on Ghanaweb too.

Are you surprised the UN did nothing to avert the calamity that befell that African country? Hell....they are blacks so their lives didn't matter. That is the kind of world we live in. I get sad when I see Africans running to ... read full comment
