One of the main reasons for the underdevelopment of our area is that we do not have effective representation in the government (present or past). We need to start contributing money and other resources to help bring a Denkyira-friendly political party to power. There is a concept in politics known as "who gets what, where, when, and how". Cash derived from the natural resources in our area is kept in Accra by the Central Government. But the disbursement of the cash and the development of districts in Ghana is determined by political giants and lobbyists. The question is: who is our political giant and who is our lobbyist?

Nana you have spoken. Well done. Denkyiraman needs infrastructural development and improvement our reps in parliament and in the government are non performers. Our own people who put them there don't see their inefficiencies. This is the time for us to educate our people to vote for people who can fight for development for us instead of voting for people who bribe them with money and consumable items. I do not think that it is wise to think of any government as Denkyira-friendly or otherwise. It is the responsibility of all government to ensure equitable distribution of developmental projects in all regions, districts and municipalities.

"It is the responsibility of all government to ensure equitable distribution of developmental projects in all regions, districts and municipalities."
You are right regarding the above statement. But let me ask you one simple question: if after 57 years of independence, non of the governments have been found to be responsible, don't you think we need to rethink our stance? If you think the central government in Accra simply picks districts at random to develop then you need to go and do a research on politics in general and in Ghana in particular. Why do you think a tomato processing factory was built at Wenchi in the B/A Region when the major growing center was/is Akomadan in the Ashanti Region? When I mentioned "Denkyira-friendly" government, I actually meant a government with political giants and lobbyist who will represent the interest of Denkyira. We can talk back and forth and reap nothing or we can brainstorm and reap something worthy for our area. Cheers.

Do these Dan-Nkyiraa people go back to Nkyiraa where they migrated from to their present location? Do they go back to visit their siblings at Nkyiraa? Historically, the Denkyiras settled at Nkyiraa, a village near Techiman, when they migrated from the "North". They picked up the cultural practices, norms and the traditions of the Nkyriaa people, hence their name Dan-Nkyiraa (turned out to be like the Nkyiraa people). Traditionally, the queen of Denkyiraa is the wife of Techimanhene hence the current Denkyirahemaa performing the widowhood rites when the late Techimanhene Dotobibi Takyia Ameyaw passed in 2004. My Bono brothers and sisters in Denkyira, please come back home; we'll welcome you with open arms, lol. Akadu Mensema, this is a free history lesson for you.

Prof. Akumfi Ameyaw, whose father was the late Techimanhene Nana Akumfi Ameyaw III may have a historical reason to marry the current Denkyirahemaa; maybe to restore the historical links between the Denkyiras and the Techimans. At any rate, culture and history were at their best when the Denkyirahemaa performed the historical widowhood rites when Dotobibi died in 2004.

Anyway, Prof Ameyaw's's first name is not Ekumfi but Akumfi.

Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [1]
2
I will say [2] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
3
Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9
If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge--
10
then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15
He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

The Denkyiras voted overwhelmingly for the PP, and the NPP but what did they do for you? History motivated me to visit Denkyira in 2006 when I was in Ghana and I almost wept. The visible lurking and lacking of development was in sharp contrast to some Asante towns; was it also due to the incompetence of this government?
