Thes Chiefs has a case to fight for. One thing these our European Brothers and parteners had to remmember is those of our Chiefs yester day are not that of to day. The have to also remmember that even without education, if our ciefs 200yrs ago were able to sign a bound with them (1844) than what should they think of us today? People read what the article 8 of the common wealth of nations says:
In July 2011 it was reported that the Commonwealth Secretary General, Kamalesh Sharma had spoken out against discrimination towards people who were gay or lesbian while on a visit to Australia, arguing that “vilification and targeting on grounds of sexual orientation are at odds with the values of the Commonwealth”. This was the first time that such a figure had spoken publicly on the issue.[3] Sharma re-emphasised the point in his keynote speech at the opening ceremoney of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, "We recall the 2009 Affirmation of Commonwealth Values and Principles, which includes a clear commitment to tolerance, respect and understanding...Discrimination and criminalisation on grounds of sexual orientation is at odds with our values and I have had occasion to refer to this in the context of our law-related conferences”.[4]
An organisation has been established in London in 2011, called The Kaleidoscope Trust, to lobby Britain's politicians so that ministers discuss LGBT issues whenever they host their foreign counterparts. It specifically aims to revoke anti-gay laws within the Commonwealth, using business and political pressure. The singers Elton John and George Michael have offered support, with Elton John attending the launch.[5]
The British Prime Minister, David Cameron indicated his support. "It's simply appalling how people can be treated — how their rights are trampled on and the prejudices and even the violence they suffer," he said. "I want Britain to be a global beacon for reform".[6] The British Minister for International Development, Andrew Mitchell indicated in October that the UK would withhold aid from countries that had a poor human rights record in relation its homosexual citizens, "In a number of countries in Africa that discrimination against homosexuality has concerned us".[7] Malawi subsequently had £19 million of budget support suspended by the UK following various infractions including poor progress on human rights and media freedoms and concern over the government's approach to gay rights.[8] This was later reinforced by David Cameron who emphasises that those receiving UK aid should "adhere to proper human rights".[9]
The British human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and the South Australian Labor MLC Ian Hunter called for LGBT rights to be put on the agenda of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), to be held in Perth at the end of October.[10] "CHOGM has never even discussed — let alone declared its support for — LGBT equality and human rights. It is long overdue that CHOGM addressed this humanitarian issue, which it has neglected for far too long.” This found further support when the Perth Member of the Legislative Assembly, John Hyde, called on Premier Colin Barnett to use his access to CHOGM delegates to address the issue of human rights for gay men and women.[11] Finally, it was confirmed that the Austraian Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd, would intervene at the October meeting with a request to scrap anti-gay laws.[12][13]
The discussion on gay rights at the Perth meeting received a muted response from many of the attending delegates despite strong support from the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Agreement could not e reached to publish a report by Eminent Persons which was looked at the Commonwealth's future relevance and demanded that all member states that outlawed homosexuality lift their bans.[14]
Homosexual activity remains a criminal offence in 41 of the 54 Commonwealth states.
why would UK be running from all these said.

Recently I watched a documentary showing the French and Spanish lining up at Gabon Consular Section for visa to go and work in Gabon. Unfortunately, not many of are skilled enough to be employed on our shores, but we give them the opportunity because of our colonial mentality. Let not the bread for ourselves and our children be given to strangers and parasites. Let us ensure we secure it for ourselves and our posterity. In addition they must be ready to go to learn any Ghanaian language, take a test and pass it before being given a job. The test may be in any Ghanaian language, not necessarily twi alone.

Please don't blame the British on this one, the blame goes to Ghana's corrupt, vision less, begging politicians and their blind followers, some of you insult each other over these political misfits, who, rather than focusing on building a strong unified Africa, are busy selling Africa piece meal through a secret trap door.
Nobody respects beggars, since the illegel removal of President Kwame Nkrumah, the British have been dictating policies to Ghana government, since 1966 many Ghanaians were tricked into thinking that they were voting for nationalism, when in fact they were voting for neocolonial parties.
Everywhere I go in Ghana people are clambering for a chance to leave Ghana for UK or US, they don't have a clue of the hardships that may await them, they seem so enthusiastic to leave Ghana, that they don't care what's on the other side.
Ghanaian politicians behave like office managers, and the developed world views them as such, they've failed to bring inspiration, dignity and hope to their people, who are now being insulted by scabs like broke Britian.

I agree with most of what you have stated. Ghana should tighten her immigration laws and stop letting everyone into the country. Most of them, as you have correctly identified, exploit us and our country. One of our problems is that some people worship foreigners (especially those who are not Black). The other problem is that the actions of some unscrupulous Ghanaians caused the British to think about imposing this fee on us.
Lastly anyone who comes to Accra (which is where most of the foreigners stay) should learn how to speak Ga. This also applies to other Ghanaians who come to Accra and do not bother to learn Ga. Would anyone expect people in Kumasi (for example) to speak Ga to a person who has arrived in the city from Accra? Wherever one goes they should learn to speak the language that is native to that area and should not expect that people in that area should speak that person's language to him or her. I am getting tired of people who approach me on the streets of Accra and start rambling on in Akan to me and have the nerve to expect that I should speak it.

Ghanaians must do more to improve their standards so that NO ONE can dictate to us or impose their will on us unnecessarily. If we were that strong, we would impose double what they are trying to impose. The end result would be a call for negotiation. Calling on the U.K. PM in this way is not bad, but it tells so many things, including even unequalness in mentality.
Imagine it this way: Somebody says I want to make new rules to reduce the number of my neighbours children who have been coming to my home. In other words, I want to protect my children's food, work, future etc. You go to him to beg him, "oh please don't do that because my children will suffer". Why don't you create jobs and the other necessary amenities in your own home so that your children would also enjoy, stay in their home and stop dreaming of better life only after going to struggle in your neighbour's home - at times even cleaning their sh*t? Don't you have the same capacity as your neighbour? Look more to what is preventing you from making your home a more suitable place and correct it, rather than calling your neighbour's attention to the harm his decision would cause on your children.

Your are totally right. The Uk are not blessed with natural products such as cocoa, bossia, mentals in varies form including diamond, gold and now oil which they may have.
Ghana is a smaller population yet it has more natural resources, which if well managed will generate more income, so why cant ghana be us if not more fruitful than the UK. Look at Brazil. the economy has grew to an extend that they paid off the countries debt to the IMF, which the IMF try not to take cos they wanted Brazil to remain their puppet but failled and had to take the money. Their have natural resources with a vase bigger population yet they are now a bigger economy that the Uk and India is not far behind. Ghana has the resources for this movement yet we have brain dead fools in government with limited knowledge, innovation and the know how to make ghana sucessful.

First question: is the UK gov't trying to make this law general, for all countries? The answer is NO! They are trying to make this new law against some selected countries. In other words, citizens of say Germany, U.S., China, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, just to mention a few, would not be affected. Do you know why?
Question 2: Ask yourself, WHY do they single out Ghana and other countries?
Well, you can get so many WHYs for your answer.
Small food for thought: A few years ago, some western countries tried to tighten visa regulations against Russian nationals. They showed a small piece of media about Russians engaging in illegal acts in the west. Russia reciprocated by showing some western visitors' illegal activities in Russia and started refusing western visitors and/or tourists visas. The following year, a form of negotiation took place and situations were normalised.
Question 3:
Now, what do you think, if they ask Ghanaian citizens visiting their country to deposit £3000, and Ghana tells every UK citizen visiting Ghana to deposit 2 or 3 times (say £6000 or £10,000) against overstaying their visas. Then Ghana even adds another law that their money would be returned to them 6 to 12 months after they return, that is if they had not overstayed their visas, would they not think twice???
We hate to admit it, but what the UK is attempting to do is another master-slave bullying and robbing tactic. They have saddled Ghanaians and, in fact, many African countries with many yokes that keep weighing them down whilst they (the British and their allies) enjoy at our expense. FOR HOW LONG SHOULD THAT CONTINUE?
We need will-power and determination to break them loose, so that we would be respected the way we respect them, and so that we and our children could visit their countries without strenuous conditions the way they visit our countries without strenuous conditions.

What Ghanaians home and abroad should look at are ways to empower our people so that these requirements can be useless to the average Ghanaian who is VERY COMFORTABLE living in GHANA and those that want to travel to see the world can go ahead and pay any amount they are asked to pay to see the cold terrein.
The YOUNG LIBERALS PARTY of GHANA is the newest of Political parties in the formation, and looking for members across the board.
If you are Ghanaian, fed up with the rantings of the major political parties (NDC NPP PPP ETC..), lost faith in the players on the political arena in our country at the moment, we employ you to do the right thing, by joining a new breed of Politicians able and ready to deliver to the Ghanaian people, your ideas and input would be needed to create the path for our future as a country.

This is the country the Stooge Akyem Abuakwa Chiefs used their citizen's money to purchase a fighter plane to help them during the Second World War. Now the war is long over and the ungrateful racists are biting the hand that fed them. Lay up Six thousand pounds deposit to visit the country you helped to save. Isn't it something?

You talk like a confused person with inadequate historical knowledge. The Akyem Abuakwas were/are a great people who played vital roles at various stages - defended many tribes who were threatened by other tribes, against colonisation, to regain independence, against slave trade and many more. Yet, as ungrateful as our Ghanaian tribes are (and unlike other non-African countries), their first reward is to point accusing fingers on anybody who helps out (in this case the Akyems), and the next is to pretend that everything they did was/is bad.
In fact, history has proved, and the world knows this open secret, that black man does not see the good in his fellow black man unless they are from the same tribe. That is exactly the reason why, when the British saw that the Akyems, who called themselves "Great Akyems", were invincible and could not get them to compromise with them, they the British went ahead to deal with the other tribes whom they saw they could corrupt, then use against others, then weaken, then divide, then rule, then get their way. Go into history and learn the truth that the Great Akyems were liberators and uniters.
They still are, it is in their blood.
What they did during the WWII was for a purpose, they had a paln; but the huu-huu other tribal chiefs hijacked the idea. Not knowing how to proceed, everything was grounded. The same is continuing till today!!!
Believe it or not blacks hate to see fellow black liberators of other tribes, they hate to see a fellow black of another tribe as a hero! Overcoming this PHD (pull him/her down) syndrome would pave the way for the true progress of the black man.
