  No one is preventing them from voting in national elections. The law is that Ghanaians must register before you can vote.
  
  No Ghanaian in the diaspora has been denied of being registered and voting. It is just that they chose to stay where they are.
  
  You cannot be somewhere enjoying yourself and think that the state should use tax prayers money which you don't contribute to come to your comfort zone to organize election for you to vote, in order to select leaders whose policies may not affect directly.
  
  The limping argument that the people in the diaspora contribute to GDP, is a fast. Money send from abroad to Ghana are send to families and not to the state and that can not entitle the privilege the are seeking accrue.
  
  It is a fact that the money would be invested in the economy and influence growth, but the profit is not for Ghanaian as of right.The monies are not given to the state to invest for the benefits of Ghanaians in general.
  
  The state must not use our scarce resources to execute a project that will not ensure equity. If Ghanaians in the US and other big cities can vote as of right, other Ghanaian living in Afghanistan are equally entitled to that right.
  
  I will suggest that if Ghanaian in the diaspora want to vote, they can make funding available to the EC for them to come over and register them, and December 7the each voting year, come to their location and make them vote for their candidates of choice.
  
  Again, during voters registration they can come home and register, and if it is time for voting they can come home and vote.
  
  This will demonstrate that they have the country at heart.

  Atogsirabangbota, I guess you have heard of voting by mail. It does not take a lot of mone to mail out ballots to Ghanaians in foreign countries who are registered voters and requested them.

  You have probably underestimated the complexity of elections.We are in a country where system are weak and cannot be trusted. You might have heard of the voters transfer issues. It shows that we have not been able as a country to handle the security of our electoral system properly.
  
  Money will be needed to put the IT infrastructure for our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to vote. Again, money will be needed to train election officials of the email system of voting as proposed by you.
  
  The point I want to press home is,Ghanaian in the diaspora are free to come home and vote. We can not use our scarce resources to organise elections for people who may not experience the governance of the elected politicians.
