50yrs without visiting his mum in Ghana and he also never invited her to the UK.I think the Home Office was right they shd have deported him to Ghana or kept him in a UK prison.He doesn't deserve attention.

If he had acquired a Ghana passport he would have been in trouble at the airport, but probably allowed to travel to GH, but he would have then been flagged as not a UK citizen, and not allowed back in.
All said and done - common sense has prevailed and a happy ending.

We should always remember where we came from. In America, after you acquired an American passport, the place of birth in the passport ( if you're not born in America) will state Ghana, if you're a Ghanaian. This tells you no matter what you accomplish in a foreign land, you're still a Ghanaian. I hope those who think after staying in a foreign country for decades, or acquiring a foreign passport is a gateway to heaven, will learn and think twice.

He is a fool not to have filed papers after all these years in UK. Let this be a lesson to every immigrant.
