GAW HEALTH EXPO 2004

There was a Health and Community Resource information available on: Free Mammography Programs, Stop Smoking Programs, Heart Attack Prevention Programs, Childhood Immunization Programs, Immunization for School and Colleges, Osteoporosis Prevention Programs, HIV Counselling and Affordable Health Insurance Programs. Kudos to the sponsors, Dr. Benjamin Doodo, Dr. Chima Ibekwe, Dr. Buabeng, Hudson River Healthcare Initiative, the president of GAW, Mr. Ata Amoyaw, Mr. Yaw Brifu, Vice-President, GAW Executive and The National Council of Ghanaian Associations for making the fair a success. GAW believes that prevention is an integral component to health as the treatment of illness and as such has been organizing health fair expos for the community since 2002. This Year's Theme was "Healthy People In Healthy Communities" and the goal was to market public to the public, regardless of the community where you live.
GAW would also like to thank Ms. Patricia McDowell, Yonkers City Council member who attended to grace the occasion. Also in attendance was Ghanaweb personality, Mr. Charles Nimmo N-Mensah aka Mr. CNN and Alhaji Mardah, Executive Secretary General of National Council of Ghanaian Associations, NY.
Ghanaweb would like to congratulate Mr. Ata Amoyaw, Dr. Doodo and the entire GAW executive for setting a trend for other Ghanaians in the USA to follow. We need health fair expo in our communities.
